Hi all. Since my CW wheeljack customisations got such a great response I figured I'd try to start sharing a few more of the little paint touch ups and minor mods I use on my classics collection. So without further ado, here's my Galvatron.
What I did:
Drilled a 5mm hole in the side of the right bicep to accomodate side mounting of the galvagun.
Shaved off the fins on the side of the arm, which were presumably added for the jet-mode, but actually get in the way of the canon.
Buffed out the removal site, and re-scribed the panel lines to make his surgery scars look more natural.
Cut the facemask off the springloaded mechanism, trimmed and removed the chinstrap. Shaved back the inside of the mask and glued it to Nucleon. Facilitating a complete headsculpt & restoring head articulation.
Repainted Nucleon to make the helmet seem more coherent as a singular entity. Even added the trademark vandyk soulpatch chin thingie. (Though I had to hand mix a purple, as I didnt have one on hand, and it dried looking real ugly. To be repainted later.)
Painted the collar around the head silver, for added screen accuracy.
Repainted the feet, and back of the legs for more screen accuracy.
Finally used a few of the stickers from the asian market promo stickersheet for TR wave 1 (kindly provided free with my purchase of fort max from kapow toys). I didn't use the full set, as many of the details it adds are nods to the original toy, and the stickers come on a very thick paper stock, which doesn't like to bend corners.
I also outfitted him with a custom matrix on a chain. The matrix is the die cast from the battle in space 2 pack set. Fully repainted in tamiya clear colour acrylics, and washed with games workshop 'nuln oil'. Sealed off with a gloss enamel clearcoat (humbrol, I think). The chain is from a piece of kids jewellery that I bought for £3 with the sole purpose of cannibalizing it for parts.
How it looks:

Heh cool job man. Galvapimp!
What was wrong with his head originally?
And is the canon plug on top of his arm not a good place to put it?

the headmaster gimmick isn't really big enough to hold together his whole purple crown affair, so the head has a battle mask that flips out of the chest to complete his look, but the mask pretty much prevents moving his head without looking really silly.
The port on the front of his arm isn't great as it was almost always mounted on the side in the show, and the canon aiming poses it can pull off look quite ugly and unnatural. The new port I added gives more posing options and screen accuracy

Great eye!! I was thinking about doing a bit on my scourge, but I'm using him as a cheif sweep. I have the TT legends scourge on preorder for my scourge scourge. Hadn'tmade my mind up just yet whether to augment ny other sweeps, as I want the huntsmen to be visually distinct from the tracker himself.
I might put something up when I get TT scourge in hand and I make my mind up. I might even end up stripping him back to stock colours.

I wondered if he was your actual Scourge or not. The paint apps you added do make the figure look much nicer from what I can see.

Love what you've done with this, I want to paint mine like that now! But I'm really interested in that matrix! How did you paint the core and make it look so luminous? I had been thinking that if I were to paint mine and keep the gold part and the core looking metallic, I'd have to use a thin, translucent coat or something. Is that what you did?

Thats precisely it! Tamiya Acrylic Clear blue and clear orange. Games workshop nuln oil for the shading, and then a humbrol enamel gloss clear coat on top to seal it.
