Ooooooo, hazelnuts guys... Someone pointed out a rather nasty aspect of the Plantinum Edition Insecticon set that will upset anyone but the most negative of thinkers:

Image

See the logo in the top right corner? That's the current Generations logo! Suddenly a grim prospect becomes even more likely... A G1 Devastator reissue (possibly with the cartoon accurate head from Encore 20A), as a Platinum Edition, marketed under Generations.

Which begs the question: was "Titan Class" officially confirmed anywhere?
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

Nope, never confirmed. Only "generations" was confirmed.

Well, that's not strictly true. We know they pack in their own catons. 2 boxes to a carton. Theres no cross sell on the insecticons for a devestator, but there is for a coneheads reissue. If theres a reissue subline, devestator showing up in the computers before the coneheads seems unlikely, as does him showing up 2 to a box. How many insecticons sets are there to a crate? 3 or 4?

Don't give up yet, y'all.
Lets keep up the hype until there's some evidence.

Plus, Do you really think a G1 reissue would cost that much?
I know, the Inescticons are ridiculously priced, but $150 for G1 Dev?
If it does. I'm going to steal one. :-$

I don't know if the prospect of the highly hyped and desired Generations Devastator being just a reissue of the G1 set is hilarious, sad or both at once.

I thought that and started writing a big post about it. But then I realized that its double the insecticon price and comes with double the figures. So in a sad and sick way, it added up.

That is a pretty good source their though. He was right about the new leader Megatron. All I have to say is it better not be another G1 reissue. Lol

Oh NO! I just read the rumour that started everything. And it says this:

Also, please take this info with a grain of salt. I did see something official, but not enough, like with the Leader Magnus figure, to be 100% on certain aspects.

That means all the guy saw was a listing for Generations Devastator like we just finally saw and not much else. I read in another post that the 6 voyager size robots was also just speculation based on the listing and price, just as we are doing. So for all we know, that reissue theory now has as good a chance being right than Chuckdawg or the initial person who reported the rumour.

I gotta say this though. Since I started collecting last year in April, this is by far the most intrigued I have been. Not that I particularly care for devastator over other dream releases, but for the sheer number of possibilities this can entail and how drastically different they are. G1 platinum reissue? 6 voyagers titan release? Combiner wars compatible? Masterpice release in Japan?

Oh NO! I just read the rumour that started everything. And it says this:
All I'm gonna say is that he's a fairly reputable member of the fandom who doesn't go about either posting info that is false or wildly posting things willy-nilly.

If he says there might be something to this, I'm willing to just wait and see what happens.

Also, he wasn't the one who started the rumor. This guy was, who was the same guy who posted the first image of Hasbro's Masterpiece Sunstorm.

After that guy let the cat out of the bag, Venksta merely stepped in to lay down the extent of what he knew so people wouldn't go nuts over-speculating things (to no avail, unfortunately).

Venksta is a known person in the fandom and has a track record of being very accurate with his info, but he also isn't one to just blab anything without consideration either. He only spoke up to clarify things once the other guy spilled the beans about Devastator, which put him in a situation after his (Venksta's) name got around via PMs and such, so he shined some small light on things to simmer down what was getting out of control on that site, but only so much as he could without saying too much.

Well this is a turn of events, if we're this ahead with at least know something is coming then I bet it will be at the next toy show (Feb I think).

As to what it will be? I'm going to give you the very worst case scenario so that whatever we get is an improvement. That scenario? A repainted ROTF Devastator. Doubtful? Yes but not in the realm of impossibility.

What I would love to see is a gift set of devestator as a normal sized combiner (I.e. The same as menasor or Superion) fighting against Monstructor. To clarify both teams will be six members, may have to compromise on size but getting those two in one box would be awesome.

From TFW2005:
No official word, yet, on what Titan Devastator will be but catz has come through with information! Not just for Titan Devastator but for more G1 Platinum reissues! Note: some of the sets listed were seen recently such as the Insecticons and Conehead Seeker trio. Here's what catz' supplier relayed:

"Just got great news(referring to Titan Devastator) from my supplier:
- All new mold
- Awesome
- Huge
- Box are metroplex sized
- Combination of voyagers and 1 leader (the number of bots inside the box are not confirmed yet - sorry for the mess)
- green
- sdcc will be yellow

Also
G1 box set:
- Blaster
- perceptor
- Insecticon
- Trypticon
- g1 cone head set"

Fans prepare your wallets for devastation!

Who's this CATZ chap? He own a small distributor?

EDIT: Also @Zerowolf: Toy Fair is Valentines Day. Exactly 1 month away.

Combination of voyagers and 1 leader ~ ugh. The thing that made Devestator awesome was his unique combination. That just sounds like your typical scramble city stuff.

and ah ... reissue Trypticon? That's a surprise.

He's going to be huge that's for sure. Now the idea to sell the Original Trypticon before this comes out. Wonder what the price on a reissue Trypticon will be? Wonder what the value of the Original will do when this reissue Trypticon comes out?

You know what? What if Titan Devastaor isn't a new mold combiner team, or even a reissue? What if it's literally just a straight up repaint of Titan Class Metroplex, I mean they gotta reuse that at some point.
