Alrighty then! I had come down with a serious case of writer's block, and now (hopefully) I can reboot the thread (after a year)!

By "sooner", apparently I meant a year later.

Chapter X

Airbrake rushed to the wall and pressed her back, now wet with the energon from the dead "Decepticon". She slowly peered over and around the corner to see how much time she had left for the Decepticon's arrival.

"... Do you think killed Coil?" She heard one of them ask, with a frightened tone.

"Do expect me to know? This is probably some sort of experiment by Jhiaxus!" She heard the other say in a british tone.

She noted several things about the two Decepticons. The larger of the two and the one with the British accent was favoring one leg. Energon trickled from a gash on his knee. The other one was small and scrawny. He had no noticeable damage, but his size was going to be a factor in the coming fight.

She readied herself, taking a fighting stance against the wall, ready to whip around and fight them. But suddenly:

"What the frag is that!?" One of them howled.

Airbrake peered around the corner to see a repair drone, an eight legged drone with one eye. It's tools dangle from it's bottom and dragged on the floor. Usually it's singular eye would glow yellow, but this one's was red, oddly.

"It's just a repair drone. Keep it together!" The one with a British accent said irritably.

Suddenly, the drone began to charge. It's tools sprung into action and were getting ready to tear them apart with their blades and saws.

"Oh yeah? Then why is it doing that!?" The other one said, panicked.

The two blew past the hiding Airbrake, fleeing for their lives. Airbrake remembered the whirl of blades and saws on the drone and decided that it was in her best interest to flee, as well. She ran along side them, and the cowardly one took notice of her.

"Autobots too!?" He yelled in a panic.

"We don't have time to fight! Only run," The one with the british accent looked to her and smiled, "Faster than her!"

He let out a kick on Airbrake's shin, causing her to tumble. She dropped the cable she had used as a whip, and it lay strewn in front of her. She rolled on her back to see the drone on the ceiling, as if a spider. She held onto her metal beam and readied herself for the worst.

It released itself from the ceiling and it's saws began to whir and spin. She struck the head of the drone, shattering the cheap and brittle metal on the drone's forehead like glass. The optic bursted and bits of glass were strewn everywhere.

She quickly stumbled on all fours and grabbed her cable. She turned to see that the Drone was struggling to stand up after it had been knocked on it's back. Airbrake smirked and jogged off after the Decepticons.

Strength in numbers, I guess. But with them...? Airbrake thought as she turned a corner.

"By Primus! Help meee...!!" She heard from around the corner.

She quickly turned the corner to see only one of the two Decepticons running in the opposite direction. It was the smaller and scrawny one. He took notice of Airbrake's presence and skid to a halt in front of her. He gave her a "No hard feelings" grin and held his hands up.

She gave him a wry smile and looked past him.

"Where is your friend?" She asked.

"Colleague." He replied, panicked.

"Where is he?" She rephrased, brandishing her metal beam.

"Back there, he-" The mech was interrupted by a guttural scream, turning to the other hallway that branched off from the drab and dark hallway.

Lights flickered on and off, the gunmetal black hallways looked pitch black with the lack of light. But present in the darkness was the familiar glow of a Decepticon's highlights. But behind him, that was a different matter entirely. Behind him was filled with the bodies of at least one million scraplets, moving as a single mass.

"Run!!" The British one exclaimed, arms flailing in a futile stratagem in speeding himself up.

Suddenly, acting in complete unison, the Scraplets formed a great tentacle and wrapped around the Mech and pulled him, screaming into the shifting mass.

“Come on! We need to make it to the Hanger! It is the only closest safe place there is!" Airbrake ordered the smaller mech, who was managing to outrun her with his short and scrawny legs.

“Safe place? From that!?" He cried, falling in next to her.

“They can’t eat through glass!" Airbrake explained through the roar of the rushing mass of Scraplets behind her.

“If you say so!"

She made a quick turn and stopped at the hanger doors; she heard the rumbling not far behind.

“GLOSS, open the doors!" She cried.

“Voice recognized. Welcome back, Commander Airbrake. Process-“ GLOSS’s voice dropped, raised, shook and shuddered before ending with, “Opening."

Airbrake didn’t think this natural for GLOSS, but then again, she didn’t have time to run a diagnostic on the supercomputer, either. She jogged into the hangar and began to climb up the ladder into the cargo crane.

“What? You didn’t tell me there were transports in here!" The smaller Mech said in an accusing tone.

He jogged for the cockpit, which was ajar.

“We don’t have time! You’ll be overtaken before you get out!" Airbrake said, at the top of the ladder to the crane.

“Yeah, right! If you aren’t coming, I’ll put a footnote in my report to High Command!" He cried as he leaped into the cockpit and started turning the controls on.

Quickly, the rectangular transport began to levitate and lean forward. A low humming sound was echoing throughout the hangar. But as soon as it began to head for the shield door, the scraplets caught up with them. Airbrake wanted to shout out a warning, but there would be no way for the mech to hear her. The scraplets formed into a hand and grabbed hold of the transport, the engines tried to compensate as the massive flying chunk of metal was pulled into the churning mass of Scraplets. The Scraplets were oddly glowing, and emitted a singular sound in unison. It was a voice.

"You cannot escape!" They shrieked as the ship was tangled and pulled into the mass.

Airbrake climbed into the crane and began to watch through the glass bubble of a control room.

She watched as the mech inside the transport flailed in a futile effort to get the Scraplets off him. Then, in an instant, the bulkhead behind him gave way and the cockpit was filled to the brim with Scraplets. He flailed no longer.

Airbrake looked away with a pained expression. She had hoped that he could have survived, but alas! He had not been able to. Perhaps if he had listened, he would have survived. But that was no matter right now. She had to find a way to deal with these Scraplets.

"Deal with me? You are more naïve than I thought." The Scraplets sounded as if they were the same low, dark and rumbling voice.

She was taken aback by this remark.

Odd. Like they were- Airbrake’s train of thought was interrupted again.

" Reading your mind? How else would I hear your voice through that glass?" It replied with a condescending tone.

By Primus…! Airbrake thought, touching her chin with her fingertips.

" How dare you speak his name in my presence!" The scraplets shrieked as they pooled into the center of the hanger.

Suddenly, they began to form two devilish horns from the pool of purple-black scraplets. Then, a diamond-shaped head became a base for the horns. Scraplets morphed even further to show a face, then, two red orbs opened to reveal the optics of a horrible being.

Who are you…? Airbrake pondered, searching her memory banks for the familiar mech.

" Don’t you recognize me? I… Am Unicron." The voice said, fear inducing chill in his voice.
