RAR, Thank you! I had forgot about this but it makes sense now!

That Fort Max teaser image from way back when had treads on it, but this thing does not! That was what was missing!

Wonder whats up there, or more importantly: Is this a fake image or some badly incomplete photoshop? No way the treads would not be noticeable :BOT:

Thanks for your reply, I now get your opinion quite well. Since you have no affiliation to G1 (either the toy or character), the added playability of being able to add him to your scramble arsenal is a far more fun perspective than having another big out of scale combiner that doesnt interact with others.

I am not a G1 guy either, but I put a lot more value on new molds (as you have seen earlier) so I would preffer he be new molds and a new combining system for the fun of discovering the new engineering.

So 2 different perspectives. But there is great news about this. Whatever Hasbro chooses to do, one of us will be very happy and that alone is great. I am all for happy fans of this brand :)

Cheers!

They'd probably make him too top heavy, plus having giant hollow treads all out there like that, is just

Given that those treads were paying homage to the IDW fort Max, I love them. And they make a vehicle mode for Max and let him stand out more from Metro. Plus I doubt with the size of the feet they would make him unstable, so that is a lame excuse right there.

I am calling BS on this pic. It follows through on several parts of what we were expecting, but no treads, the fact that it is supposedly coming out in 3 months and titans would not just be sprung on us like that, and the fact that the city mode just looks too different from how that thing should transform unless half of its transformation joints are overhauled.

If I'm wrong ok, but as of this moment, I am calling BS :BOT:

I did notice the treads were missing (despite being on the art that leaked the line) but I got side tracked by the inclusion of the sword. As to why they aren't there we have three options

1) it's fake, plain and simple

2) it got changed during design

3) that's a mock up and the treads haven't been finished yet

I'm still thinking about how this would be our first image and the thing comes out in 3 month apparently, before combiner wars even ends! That's a pretty big deal if they decided to do that :BOT:

Right, because gen. metroplex wasn't a nightmare to pose/stand up; what with his piddly feet and non-existent heels. They'd need to do some serious reworking to get those kinks ironed out >:oP

Do you have Metroplex? Because he's really not that hard to get to stand up/pose and the only thing that really gets in the way of good posing are his weak knee ratchets.

I don't, but he had no heels, right? I've seen plenty of deluxe's fall over from having right angle heels, so, I figure that at his size he's bound to have more problems, I experienced something similar building one of my mechs >:oP

I mean you can't really have a foot without having a heel but I think he has some pretty big and solid feeties. They're about 3 inches long and about an inch and a half wide his main issue really isn't in the feet themselves but the hollow legs ( that needed to be hollow for the base mode) and his massive and heavy upper section. If he had a bit more weight lower down and much better ratchets I don't think he would have any problem at all standing in different poses.

Not at all  he's still a very cool and intimidating figure and will look awesome standing side by side with fort max.

Actually quite the contrary. Metroplex is almost impossible to tip over. He stands so well. The only thing is, like previously said, his knees were weak. But he is super stable. :BOT:

Well, I've already got the original G1 Fort Max, RID Brave Max, and the Classics Metroplex...
So, you know what I want out of this? A repaint of THIS Max as the only big city bot I'll probably never be able to get: GRAND MAXIMUS.

But grand is nothing without his pretender shell. Though I would like to see how hasbro would update that particular gimmick. Though now I think about it, cw ultra magnus was a lot like a pretender wasn't he.

Ah for a while I thought this was probably the real think but the more I think about it the less I think it is. Just look at the photo closely but it being released in February of next year os definitely BS because Combiner Wars wave 2 of 2016 wouldn't of had released yet so I find it unlikely that thsi is the real thing. And who could forget the treads not being there plus I highly doubt they will change their design at this point. Finally, it has on the pic that its first titan wars product which I would highly doubt it would be plus it was also changed to Titan's Return. So overall its most likely this is fake because it probably would and is.

I wouldn't say he's incredibly stable, he'll crumple at the knees so easily if he isn't positioned properly. That said the secret is turning his legs slightly at the knees so that the knees can't turn the same direction.

While I do think it might be fake nowhere on it does it talk about the UK, it says US and global. Also it would be the first titan wars product if the release date of wave 1 is 3rd quarter of next year ( September) and the titans come out around July.

Let me show you. Firstly, the pictures is a bit squished so he should look a little tallker than this.

Look at the forearms on the picture below, especially the circle. Notice that there are also these lines pointing diagonally down from the circle on the forearms?

Now look at gen metroplex in the exact same area:

Those forearms are the exact same mold. With the same molded detail of the circle and diagonal lines. Then make your eyes go up to the shoulders and if you take into account that the picture is squished a bit, you will see it is the very same proportions as metroplex with very similar shoulders. The feet might be the same mold too, not sure. But yes, looking at them both, it is a reshell with the torso area reworked for transformation and to accomodate the headmaster.

Oh another thing guys, its written Titan Wars and not Titans Return, so this could be an early image that is just surfacing now.

I can see the similarities in this comparison.

If this does turn out to be real, the lack of the treads that we saw in the original art as well as the lower production numbers suggest to me that this could possibly be a special edition exclusive version of the figure (like as a Platinum Edition or a SDCC version) that's more G1-accurate in its lacking the treads and having a small production run, while the mass retail version would have the treads and higher production numbers.
