Lego Transformers by The Freezer

This is one of my fave models and i dont think i need to tell you who the inspiration was. Grimlock was my first g1 toy and i really like him and the new animated version which is almost identical and i really wanted to pay homage to one of my fave transformers so here he is.

As I'm pretty familiar with the g1 toy i built this from memory and found it pretty easy with just a few snags to fix along the way although the chest was a bit hard.

like the animated figure this has more articulation in the arms and legs than the original although the alt mode is a bit rigid apart from the head neck and legs and is probarbly more comparable to classics Grimlock.

With the animal tfs size is not really an issue as there is no need for a mini fig to fit in so you can make them really big (I'll post my Spapdragon and Transquito then you'll see) which is always fun plus it allows for greater detail and better articulation

anyway i hope you like it cos this is one of my favourite lego kitbashes. Comments and critisism are very welcome as I'm always looking to improve.

Weapon: Particle Beam Cannon
Nice! Was this done with LDraw or Google Sketchup?

It certainly was. TEN POINTS!!

It just feels better when you place each brick on top of another.

Protectobot Groove
I did this because I didnt have any bike transformers in Lego and after seeing FrenzyRumble's Protectobots I decided to give it a go, I've no plans for a Defensor of my own just yet.

I've found that this mold is surprisingly versatile and I've recoloured or retooled it into every bike TF from Bullitbike and Prowl to Ransack and Arcee.

Dinobot Snarl
Whilst having a skeg for Transformers to build I thought that Snarl looked pretty simple and he was! G1 toys are usually pretty good to base a model on as they have nice blocky shapes, much like Lego bricks themselves. I'm happy with how it turned out although the plates on the chest were somthing of an after thought and the tail was quite tricky as Lego transformations are best suited to 90 degree turns.

The model features an opening mouth, a sword and two missiles and is also pretty hefty.
