TFA Female Starscream Clone

Alright, this is largely a repaint, but I did modify the head, so hopefully this is the right place for it.

It's the Female Clone! Shescream? Overlord? Lazerwave? Suzan? Well, you know who I mean.

This is the first time I've done anything beyond small touch ups, so I'm pretty happy with the way she turned out. For the sake of argument, I used P3 Formula acrylics (Arcane Blue and Beaten Purple). I based her applications off of A Bridge Too Close, obviously, which meant guessing a little around the back of the torso. I painted the cockpit with opaque paint because there was no way I was ever going to turn that orange plastic the proper blue and keep the transparency. Obviously, she still needs faction symbol decals; is Reprolabels pretty much the be all and end all, or are their alternatives?

I am having trouble with paint scraping off during transformation. It's not a huge issue, since I plan on displaying her in robot mode, and I know it's got to be the noobist of the noob questions, but it there a way around this?

Looks good, can't help with your questions but I definitely like this.
I don't think I've seen any other repaints of Shescream yet, so well done on a first.

Thanks! The character doesn't get enough love, by my estimation. I'm hoping she'll crop up again on the show; we've seen what happened to all the other clones after A Bridge Too Close, after all!

That said, my motivation for making her was decidedly odd. See, I needed more female characters for this project. Two birds, one stone!

Motto: "If I win again I'm still the champion. If you win HAH! that's just impossible.

Weapon: tea cup."
If parts are binding and causing paint to get scraped off you'll need to trim the plastic with a scalpel or some other super sharp modelling knife. Then varnish the whole thing. You'll need to research and experiment to find a compatible varnish but I recommend using a spray varnish as even brush on varnishes of the same brand and series as the paint often disolve the paint!

I also recommend cleaning the paint off the face and repainting using several layers of thinned down paint instead of one thick layer - her face is lumpy so it looks like she's wearing too much foundation. Using many layers of thin paint will give a more even finish.

That makes a lot of sense, and it's about what I figured. Unfortunately, I'm not terribly confident in my ability to do that kind of delicate shaving without royally messing up the whole thing. It sort of becomes an issue of weighing how much better I could potentially make it against how much worse I could make it by making a mistake. Pretty much the same philosophy applies to the face. The lighting in the photo makes the uneven paint a lot more noticeable than it is in person, so I think I can live with it.

Still, both pieces of advice are something I'll be keeping in mind for future mods, once I'm more practiced. Thanks!
