ARMOUR: the unsolved variable
right so we all know armours a mess, which means for pretty much everyone except me(and maybe mkall if he trawls through the code for it) that Rank is a bit of lucky dip when it comes to where you put the XP, this is not good; why should you put xp into rank becuase it might help you when you can put it into a stat with a known affect? which pretty much means you're not gonna use it, but if you are you're just as likely gonna pick a crappy armour over a decent one.
now the weapons are balanced armour becomes more effective, since you can't do stupidly large amounts of damage with a low Req weapon, defence becomes more attractive, even viable at low levels becuase you can't improve offence stupidely with just 45K any more, you can either get some mediocre weapon, or some mediocre armour, so all you need to do now is figure out which armours decent and which is we carboard.
except i doubt anyone really has the patience.
so the armours in effectiveness per tonne are(in descending order);
Force Field(theortically inpenetrable)
Electrum
Deutronium
Magetic
NTT
Neutronium
NTS
U238
Crystalline
Ceramic
Carbon Fibre
Iron
Aluminium
Steel(softer than Mkall's toupe)
believe or not at you're own risk.

Thanks for this, Tammuz. I certainly was not aware that U238 was better than Crystalline. Could you talk at all about how you arrived at the order?

Sweet, cheers Tammy.
Any chance of a Rank 2 armour being put in any time soon?

i doubt it, unfortunately caelus's abilities got nerfed so the only person with that power is mkall, and that's if seibs has given him access to the back end of the code...

there is currently a bug that lets you go above 10 in stats....guess no one thought about combining it with force field armour.
yeah that really needs to be fixed....

The fallen was awesome. Hope the quints return eventually. They cost me a fortune in energon, most of it given to Murderplex in minicon genocide prizes, but it was well worth it.

Pfft. That big bag of air? I've got lots of pieces of him laying about here...it's mixed in with those piles of Mini-Cons and Judge tentacles.
What do I do with all these spare parts and limbs?

Thanks for the tips on the armor, but I do prefer giving my troops the variety.

Never thought about trying to get forcefield armor...
then again I'm not sure any of my mech have enough XP to make it to 11 in anything

What Ranks do we have oprnings in besides 2? If we have something higher, then why not see if we can move some of them down a notch so FF is Rank 10?
Or is a full armour system overhaul in the works?
I am glad I was right about U238 being better than Crystalline....I haven't been wasting my time with rank 4 for a reason then, I just make sure I can skip straight to 5 or 6 in some cases and used some Nucleon Temptered Goodness.

Re: ARMOUR: the unsolved variable
Our characters can be Level 11, but no one can get that 11th point in their RANK stat. So Electrum and Dutronium are the only ones we, mortals, can get.

Well lets lobby to get it changed to Rank 10 then. I believe there should be an armor unlocked with every rank stat. Else it is just totally a filler stat after Rank 8. It should be worth at least something if you are feeding XP into it.

Re: ARMOUR: the unsolved variable
well even filled it would not be that useful, we'd be kinda in a situation where electrum is so good that any armours above it would make you nigh impervious to NTAs(remember how iron used to be)
no, what we need now is for armour to be balanced...

Even still, it is as if you are working toward something. I agree balance it out first and then add new armor. No sense in adding the new armor if it is still unbalanced.

Re: ARMOUR: the unsolved variable
you'll have to talk to mkall about that, i've got a little formula that will sort it all out but i fear it would need to be coded in at the back end.
i'm not sure i can produce figures to substitute for the formula to be fitted in as the x variable in the armour mechanic like i did with the weapons....i'll give it a go
EDIT: BAH i can't do it, i need flexibility in two planes to make it balance nicely with the weapons, unfortunately i only have one, so it'll have to be a hardcode change, but at least i can tell Mkall exactly what needs to change.

But Metro..Rank 11 breaks rules and would result in Caelus or Mkall taking disciplinary actions with perps.
So lets drop the rank 10 armour to rank 9 and the Force Field into rank 10 for now.

Only problem with that is that there is no Rank 10 Armor.

Just for the experiments sake: You can't equip rank 11 armor. (There's none in armory)
