how does Hastaks 2015 combiners compare to FP Intimidator and TFC Uranos

Man, these CW guys would probably be enough for me to sell off M3 and Uranos if they were just 1) a tiny bit higher in build quality and 2) didn't have the new character limbs. Not because I think they're better than the mentioned third party guys, but because they'd then be good enough that I'd want to try and recoup some of the $900 I dropped on the third party guys.

Really?
I think it looks like a cheap KO next to the TFC and FP stuff in the pictures.
Size-wise, it is pretty nice, though.
I'll be getting it and I'll compare in-hand.

I'm actually pretty confident that Hasbro will release the correct members later. and there is already a third party making one for Superion... although I don't get the point of buying that while trying to get away from the TFC Superion... cause what you sell it for like 400 (at best?) and spend another 100 on the new limb? so lets say you spend 500 for TFC superion, you lose 100 on the sale and then spend another 100 for the extra limb and then like 100 on the Hasbro figures? kinda don't make sense (to me at least)

When I sell things at a loss - especially loose or used figures - it's with the understanding that I got some tangible benefit out of owning them, whether for play or display.
For example, I probably will end up selling Hercules because of my confidence in the Hasbro Devastator gift set rumot (6 voyagers? Hell yea!!!). But I probably won't get more than $400-$450, even with the $600+ investment in the complete set of 6, the Rage set, the Crazy Devy Purple Barrel, and the Excellent Toys LED heads thrown in the mix. But I've had enough fun with Hercules that I can say that loss is acceptable.
But I agree that buying that Beelzeboss limb makes zero sense to me. Might as well wait for Hasbro to release the 'correct' member. Also, the reviews for Alpha Bravo have been very positive.

Honestly I'm actually liking the look of CW Superion more than Uranos. His combined mode looks like it's gonna be a lot better and more solid, Silverbolt's jet mode sort of almost works (although I still wish that they or TFC had gone for a different, less...flat jet mode) and they're going to be a lot cheaper!
I mean sure, one of them's a helicopter rather than a Harrier (which is more of a tragedy for me because the Harrier is one of my favourite jets ever) but Alpha Bravo actually looks pretty decent. In any case I'll get Alpha Bravo, and if someone (HasTak or someone else) release a SIlverbolt as well and it's good then I'll get him too, and have Alpha Bravo as part of the Aerialbots' "support squad" (similar to what I'm doing with the extra tank and helicopter that came with my Bruticus).
Literally my only complaints with Superion are the hands and feet, which I might wait for a 3P to make replacements for or just do it myself on ShapeWays.
Menasor, though, I think I'm going with FP. Not because of Offroad, but just because he looks a bit...iffy. That said the Motormaster looks awesome, and I'd like to see someone make an upgrade trailer for him that gives him a more cohesive look in combined mode and can also form a sort of "repair bay" like his classic figure.

Yes, but I think it will serve a lot of people who either refuse to or can't put the money down on some of these expensive 3rd party combiners.
I feel like these things we're getting are the logical extension of what should have followed the Energon line.

Here's the math I was trying to convey. This was assuming I would actually sell the TFC one (I'm not) because the Hasbro one had all the right limbs therefore not facilitating any third party action:
Hasbro figures: $85
TFC Superion: $560 spent (I know, I didn't wait for deals, ok?)
Total investment: $645
Sell TFC Superion: -$400
New total: $245, which is way less than the $560 already spent even if Uranos went out at a loss.
Edit: That Wings kit - forgot about it.

Well, Firefly does look more like a Harrier than a Phantom. Does that help? I'm actually contemplating a repaint of an extra Firefly as Slingshot. It might look okay with Alpha Bravo's head.
But that's a long shot. I'm not known for having all these plans to paint toys and following through with those plans...

On the plus side you won't need to give it a bunch of extra detachable parts with nothing to do in the separated mode in order for it to look presentable.

I'm basically in the same boat. Nothing TFC released post-Hercules appealed to me in any way.

Uranus and Intimidator look like high priced adult collectibles. Combiner Wars combiners look like mis-proportioned kids toys. Especially Menasor. Ill buy them for fun and display them as individual bots, but Ill never take them seriously as combiners unless a 3rd party fixes the proportions, hands, feet, and gives us the missing limbs. Screw that stupid helicopter, what a sick joke.

To be honest, I actually like the look of Uranos more than CW Superion. I'll still get him, though. Because I'm a fool with my money.
One advantage to CW is that their aerialbots are likely to scale well with the Classics Seeker mould I've invested in so heavily while the TFC ones are all large. That's also true for their Stunticons in relation to other deluxe cars.

One advantage to CW is that their aerialbots are likely to scale well with the Classics Seeker mould I've invested in so heavily while the TFC ones are all large. That's also true for their Stunticons in relation to other deluxe cars.
This is the best argument (aside from price) that I've seen for the CW version over the TFC version. Kudos on that.

That's a crap argument in a discussion of aesthetics, but then I'm not sure if you're being serious.
For one thing, my Uranos stands perfectly fine without tilting, slumping, or sliding as shown by the pic I have him in surrounded by other bots.
For another, it's an easily corrected issue for anyone who takes 10 minutes to adjust the gearing.
This sort of discussion is where I feel lost discussing these issues of official vs certain third party figures. I feel like if I point out what I view as flaws in the official figure compared with the 3rd party figure, you get jumped on for being elitist.
It's almost always a matter of cost. We know that's the real issue but tip toe around it. I'll come back at the end with an example of where to me, it isn't a cost issue, but for now let's run with this.
For instance, let's take Skydive. Objectively, I do not think there is anyway to view the CW version as better than TFC's. Even outside the picture of Superion, the Skydive from TFC is absolutely outstanding. Cost aside, put them next to one another and I really wouldn't trust the opinion of anyone who viewed the CW version as objectively better.
But mix in cost and it's a different story. The Hasbro version for $14.99 or the TFC version for $89.99? Now we have something to change the balance of our decision making. If someone says, for the price, the Hasbro version is superior, I could certainly agree. But I don't think that's how it usually goes. We undermine one side or another to validate our own decision but rarely are we making appropriate comparisons.
So, ultimately, how will the "Hastak combiners" compare to the specialty market 3rd party combiners? They won't be as good. It's apples and oranges. It's Honda and BMW. But we all knew that from the beginning. EVERYONE should know that. Anyone who thinks the $15 general retail release is going to beat out the "custom tailored to 30-something yuppies with disposable income" is **** nuts. But...
But that doesn't diminish the retail release. Apples still taste good. Honda still makes great cars. For $15 is a CW figure going to get you as much enjoyment as I get out of a dead-to-rights G1 update from a 3rd party company? Most definitely. Is it absolutely awesome that Hasbro is making retail combiners a reality? Damn right it is.
Now me, personally? I'm willing to go the length and to spend the dollars to get the best version of any Classics style character. That's my thing, that's how my collection is set up. I'm not alone in that one...I think there are a LOT of people out there who look at this the same way. But I said I'd bring it back to an example where cost isn't the main issue.
So, I'm hoping that the CW line takes on Bruticus. I know...he's been over done as a combiner. He's also one where so far, the 3rd party companies have it wrong.
The FP version from yesteryear is now a sad sack of disappointment compared to modern figures and the Warbotron figure is just absurdly sized. Warbotron kills me because it's size is a waste. They made a beautiful toy that fits in with nothing. So, I'd love to see Hasbro's take on Bruticus. I don't take sides, I buy what's best for my display and where ever and whenever Hasbro gets it right, I'd love to buy and support the product.
I don't think I've posted this many words in a long time in a discussion. I probably **** it up between having a point to make and tending to our newborn.
TL;DR
Some people need to stop acting like collectors are screwing up by paying for expensive toys when those toys meet their needs AND;
Some people need to stop acting like official product is second class product.
I'll probably end up buying CW figures of stuff I already have a 3rd party combiner of anyway.
