Four? FOUR? BAH, you young'uns don't know you're born. My first TF had only two. TWO!

I think we're getting off topic.

This thread is about celebrating Transformers... keep boasting about your cement joint former, Mykltron :)! Anyways since I'm in nerd mode after posting all that TF news... minus well add another selection

#11 - Cybertron Optimus Prime

Some might want this figure higher on the list, but I think it fits just right. For me, Cybertron was better than Energon and Armada. When it comes to Optimus Prime figures, holy freaking guacemole, Cybertron Optimus Prime blows those two out of the water, and with the arsenal he has, I think he could do just that.

Image

For some, the alternate mode might be a bit chunky. However I think it fits the cartoon's CGI quite well, and it has a ton of playability. You're looking at something way ahead of the other A/E/C Leader class figures, and it has one dead sexy paint job

Image

Flying Jet Mode is a bit lame, but I also find it fun to play around with, and since when could you have a flying Optimus Prime on his own? (+Jetfire in Armada, +Wing Saber in Energon)

Image

By itself, the robot mode of this figure is kinda bland. I like the size, but it's just something about the face..

Image

..but that don't matter shiz cause he comes with a removable matrix. Well... most Optimus Primes come with one too, but it actually looks like he can open up his chest.

Image

Face Guard Up, Battle mode on... and you've got one of the most impressive figures in Transformers history.

Image

Nothing like a little combining action with Leobreaker for Savage Claw Mode..

Image

and the Sonic Wing Mode relationship with Wing Saber is going steady..

Image

All in all, you've got a superior Optimus Prime compared to the others in the Trilogy. He sums up what the greatness that can be achieved from blocky plastic. His Galaxy Force repaint is a bit non-Optimus for my liking... and the Sonic Convoy set is probably the winner. I'm sure Real Devastator could supply some pictures. What's this Optimus Prime's impact on the Transformers? You can still combine and look damn good doing it!

#10 - Victory Saber

We break into the final 10 of our list. This selection weighs heavily on Real Devastator, suggesting that Victory Saber just had to make it in the top 10. I can't really argue with him.

Image

I don't really know what's going on in alternate mode. The figure is like a flying fortress fighter. This figure must totally be full of fun.

Image

Don't let the brick fool you...

Image

The figure still has poseability and big mother f-ing guns!

Image

This figure's winning grace just has to be how massive he is. A remarkable piece in anyone's collection!

(Sorry for the short one.... I don't own the figure so I can't say too too much!

But why should it be in the top 10? Just cos it's big?

This is not related to it's position in this at all, but I don't call the ability to spread his legs 'great posability'.

I think the #10 spot is a great place for Victory saber, size and being slightly better than a brick aside, the figure is a fantastic example of the gimmickry of the time, allowing for a lot of potential play value.

You start with the core gimmick of Brainmaster figures: A pilot which, when placed inside the body, forms not the head, but the face, and the core intelligence (the Brain, get it?) of the larger robot, in this case: Saber.
For some, this would be good enough, but Saber comes with the V Star, a flying fortress capable of converting into a base mode, like all good Autobot leaders had, or (in the series) it could also fly around on it's own to distract the enemy, carry out rescue operations while Saber was fighting, or probably even make pizza/beer runs when everyone else's just too tired.
Combining Saber with the V Star creates Star Saber, Autobot leader and "Greatest Swordsman in the Galaxy" with one kickin' shiny giant sword!

But we're talking Victory Saber, so the fun doesn't stop there!
Bring along his good friend Victory Leo (Rebuilt from the dying/dead God Ginrai), who's got several modes in his own right (Robot, Lion, Flying... thing... that's really only used for a combined vehicle mode). He's got shoulder cannons, a BFG, and very large wings.

Finally you combine the two together for the final product, #10 on the list of the 25 best according to Blurrz, Victory Saber.

With all that going on for it, I can't help but believe it deserves a spot in the top 10. And after listing all this off, I REALLY want to get one...

Victory Saber NEEDS a reissue. I merely have a pretty decent KO of the Robot Masters version(and an official Victory Leo Super Collection Figure), and I LOVE the KO.

Mostly cause I love the character, but the figure is just so much fun. I can only imagine how awsome the full size brick is, cause really, what fun is it when you have to be careful when fiddling around with a figure only to have it's arm, leg, or head fall off?

In addition to a reissue, does anyone think it deserves Masterpiece candidacy? I mean, the character is a faction leader and the original toy is highly coveted. Are Star Saber and Victory Leo highly regarded and iconic characters to fans of Victory?

Yes and Yes.

Also, I actually prefer the Armada Prime non-super mode to the Cybertron Prime non-super mode. As much as I love Cybertron Prime, his basic bot mode always seemed a bit scrunched to me.

I've been pretty agreeable until this one. He's a cool enough figure but his character in the show was so god awful that ruins it for me. He's the biggest dickhead in transformers history to me. He killed his best friend and turned him into a pair of platform boots and a backpack. Come on.

When you talk to Optimus Prime collectors, or Transformers collectors in general, there's always one figure that tends to be a major favourite.....

#9 - Robots In Disguise Optimus Prime

If Mr. BURNING JUSTICE himself did not make this list, then I'd probably be going bonkers. His Decepticon counterpart made the list, so R.I.D. Optimus Prime just has to make it too. When it comes to Robots In Disguise, I never truly appreciated it as much as I perhaps should have. The cartoon... well it the first time I ever saw Transformers as vehicles which I described before, and the toy line was something that I unfortunately avoided for the most part. This is just one figure I'm glad I got..

Image

I know RID totally screwed the whole Prime as a truck for some people. And some aren't really used to it, and never will. It's just that you can't argue how golden the alternate mode is. It's realistic. A/E/C had pretty garbage alternate modes. Yes they were solid figures but not exactly realistic. Only Movie Prime can compare to RID in terms of realistic alternate modes.

Image

There's a lady who's sure
All that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

Image

The normal robot mode is okay. It's not Prime-ish, yet I don't really have any arguments against it. The figure has some solid twist joints which I love, a nice looking gun, and just solid articulation. I think my favourite part of the toy in this mode has to be the way the hands move, and the wheel knee caps.

Image

Of course nothing beats Optimus in Super Mode. It's menacing. It's badass. It's full of burning justice.

Image

Of all the super modes this one just has to be my favourite. It's stunning. I didn't mind that the cartoon used it's sequence over and over again, it was just fun to watch. Not the best Prime super mode of all time. Certainly up there though.

Image

Combining with the weaker figure Ultra Magnus yields a weaker lookingOmega Prime.. Not my favourite combiner, but very menacing and jaw dropping in the cartoon!

Image

I'm a big fan of Lemon Justice.....

Image

I usually don't flaunt the Lucky Draws... but Black Licorice Justice is nice too.

Arguably one of the best figures of all time - I think one of my favourites on the Top 10 list. This clearly shows that you don't always need to look the same as the other Optimus Primes to be good!

Fire Convoy has a special place in my own personal list just because during a summer exchange program in Japan I saw this figure in a department store and was amazed. I was kind of ho-hum about Beast Wars because I preferred cars/planes/etc. So I instantly bought this, not knowing there was an anime behind it.

Great figure. Worth every penny.

Truly epic figure. Loads of playability if you have UM because Prime then has four modes and loads of weapons! I think he's the greatest combiner because he's huge and pretty well articulated. Only problem is Omega Prime can't hold epic poses unless the surface he's standing on has some grip!

This is the only TF who's electronic gimmicks have impressed me.

This is one figure that I say makes my collection. Well actually it was this figure that got me into collecting so it literally made and makes my collection. Fire Convoy is the bomb. He is everything one could want in a Convoy (Prime) I love his super mode. I love his regular mode.

Base mode is a little lame but what can you do.

My only gripe is his waist. Even when he was new he just could not take the weight of Ultra Magnus on him and would tend to fall back.

Now that he's nearing that milestone of: A Decade Old, he's even looser.

I wonder if Hasbro or Takara will decide to make a 10th Anniversary Line for R.I.D. Like they did for BeastWars.

Yeah, I love mine, but if he hits even the slightest speed-bumb on the way to the fire you're in trouble (unless Hotspot and/or Inferno are on the way too.. )
