Even those won't last for that long of a time. From what I've witnessed of the recent lines, you get the final figures that come out, there is a lull in the restocking for about 3 weeks and then the new figures show up. I saw this happen with energon to cybertron, cybertron to classics and classics to the movie line.

They always move over the remaining stock of the old figures to an end cap or off to the side to make room for the new figures.

This is what I'm thinking... Because right when I started getting interested in buying the movie figs., this was the case with the older TF's toys (in Walmart)...
20th Anniversary Prime, the Alternators, AND the Classics were all off in a mish-mash isle of random stuff, most of which were toys for really little kids.

But I do wonder, will stores get shipments of Alternators, Classics, etc. just to fill the gap during the wait??

Nah, I like the Animated toys more than the Classics. Classics had crummy quality. I heard the Animated toys will be coming out around June. I knoow, it's so long to wait.

crummy? how? I saw the bb review and it re-enforces the fact that the all look like something you'de get in a kids meal.

Crummy: When a rub with your finger across Prime's yellow crotch ( ) will take 30% of the paint off.

I really hope there aren't more dudes out there like you, who have an apparent Optimus-crotch-rubbing fetish!

Perhaps that area was originally intended to be a scratch and sniff region of Prime?

Away from sicko talk, I have never had a problem with the quality of the Classics and yes, I cannot imagine Animated would/should come out any later than early April. Anything later than that, and it's just terrible marketing strategy by Hasbro.

When I pick up my figs, I tend to wrap my hand around their leg, and put my thumb on their midsection, this time it just happened to land on the crotch, that's when the paint rubbed off.

This also happened with lots of my Movie figs, so I hope to god the Premium Series/Animated line will be better.

I understand what you're saying, but it's just people getting excited, right?

And I personally think that while the release might legitimately be in May, June, or July,
it does make sense what others are saying--
1. Cartoon has been out for a while now.
2. Movie toys are being re-hashed (even in the Allspark line).

I don't think it would be a mistake for Hasbro to get the Animated line out soon (March???).
I see it like this:
People watch the cartoon, and want some toys of those characters--
They go out and pick up said toys, continue watching the cartoon, keep interested, and then buy the next wave of toys when they're released...
In other words, both can feed interest in each other.

Can toy sales help keep a cartoon series alive and progressing into futures seasons??
I don't know for sure...
But poor toy sales can only lead to a potential early end to the line. And I know there are those out there that don't give a shite,
but for those of us looking forward to these figures,
it could mean the difference in one new wave of 4-5 great figures not ever being made.

And I think all can agree, the success of the cartoon AND toys is still kinda "up in the air".
Good marketing stragety is important at this point.

I agree. I've noticed some quality flaws since Classics and the Movie line. Cheap paint, not so straight stripes on C. Bumble, worn looking plastic on some tfs. But that's just a few i noticed, other than that my little movie collection looks great.

Most of us are like yourself, looking forward to the toyline, though the degree of eagerness with which it is anticipated varies.

The haters are a rather small but nonetheless proactive bunch. Everytime there's a thread that in some way touches on Animated, they feel the need to chime in and remind us how they think it's the worst thing ever.

My mom(who works for a Wal-mart) heard from a friend(who is the Toy Superviser) that they may release them soon but isn't sure when. I'll keep you posted on this lead until I get more realible intel.

Not to nagative but hasbro has already screwed the pooch on this one the new season of power rangers isn't even under way yet and they already got the figures out there. Which means that the age group there targeting with this series is going to forget all about transformers animated by the time the toys hit and be back into the whole power rangers thing.

Animated (the toy line) isnt out yet, we've seen a handful of pictures of a neven smaller handful of toys, how *anybody* can make a real opinion about the toys yet other than 'they photo well' or 'they dont' is byond me. Save the critismns about the actual toys until after you have at least seen em on the shelf.

Now it's fair enough to complain bitterly about the cartoon (I'd disagree with you, but you can still do it), but any complaint such as that belongs in the carton forum.

Only problem with that remark is that they've already released most of the repaints. And the ones that aren't out yet, we already have pictures of.

I've heard the June date as well for animated. Seems odd to keep them off the shelf when the show has started. The show will be in reruns, it its on at all, when the toys hit.

Better to have 2 lines out, again, then risk the audience passing the animated line up for whatever movie tie-in toys are on the rack. Which in this case will be Dark Knight(batman), Hulk, Indiana Jones and Iron Man.

I have no interest in the repainted movie toys. Barely had an interest outside of Prime. The real world tie-in toys are some of the coolest toys and those are only inspired by the movie. A movie tie-in cartoon would be cool with some of those characters.

Bring on the animated toys HASBRO, quit waiting till June.

But you don't have the toys, therefore can't express any real opinion other than "I won't buy these." Ok, you're entitled to express this opinion, but why do you seem so intent to express it over and over and over again? Do you have nothing better to talk about?

Personally, I'm hoping the rumour is true and we get Animated sooner than June. Ironman is out in around then, and I've always had a weakness for Ironman toys.

I don't object to anyone expressing their opinion, positive or negative, I never have. What I'm saying is that those who've expressed strongly negative opinions of animated are something of a vocal minority rather than being particularly representative.

Maybe there's haters that choose to remain silent, but there's more to transformers than TF:Animated, and if they're silent on TFA, they're probably just focusing more of their time on the things that really do interest them.

The rest of us actually are looking forward to it - even if it's not totally our cup of tea and alternators or classics or something else might be more our sort of thing. As a new direction for transformers, I'm very excited about it. So far I like the designs a lot, but whether it can live up to previous toys like the Movie and Classics lines is still an open question for me.
