I am gonna try to get thundercracker. I hope he will not cost nearly as much as the botcon ones.

wouldn't it make sense that these take to 2 current empty spots on their site??
And how much will they charge?
I would not doubt triple digi's...
EDIT: Interesting, I just checked, and those "mysteries" are listed at $24.99...
Of course that could easily change.
Those are "C-" listings, for "Cybertronian" or Autobot.
Those preorders are for Prowl and Sunstreaker.
Anyway, if Skywarp and Thundercracker get a number it will be DX-01 and DX-02 (or XD-01 and XD-02). That's how the Japanese numbering goes.
That's what I thought soon after I edited my post...
I kinda thought that Prowl and Sunstreaker listings would've been labeled with their names by now.
And part of it was probably subconscious wishful thinking.
IF BBTS were to get these, how soon do you think they would be listed?
And thanks for the heads-up.

Just kidding. Wonder how insanely expensive TC will be?

I'm definatly preordering Thundercracker

Re: TakaraTomy Website Update - Henkei Skywarp & Thundercracker
So what would you do in my case. I have Henkei Starscream, classics ramjet and skywarp.
I bought Exclusive Thrust and refused to pay the ridiculous prices for TC and Dirge (repaints).
Should I sell Thrust now before one gets announced by Henkei which you know is coming!
Part of me thinks, awe heck, I paid $100 incl shipping for the figure and a Thrust will at least cost $40, plus we don't know when it would come, could be over a year from now. Thoughts????
Oh and yes, I will be ordering TC and if a Dirge comes out, him too.
People that bought the Botcon 2007 set when first released shouldn't be so upset...it's the people that bought the resold items for double the cost and those that paid over $200 for a $10 toy, they should be a bit perturbed. I am not so upset because I knew the risk was there and wanted Thrust which is just a great figure and a remold.
And with another repaint coming out in the universe line, it just keeps going!

Dude...This isn't some kind of populist victory.
I mean really.
Anyone could have had Thundercracker for $55-70 last year. They could have bought the set, sold off the extras and came ahead money wise.
The set didn't even sell out for like 3 weeks.
Now, people have a second bite at the apple and it will be a bite that costs 2-3 times what the original opportunity costs. Anyone that doesn't think Thundercracker is going to hit $200 is deluded. (If they produce 8-10,000 units, then yea, most people will get this on the cheap. More likely though, we're looking at 1000-2000 units, max around 6,000.)
To top it all off, Japanese store exclusives are MORE LIMITED than BotCon exclusives.
Am I not making this clear?
To make the whole situation worse...
Since these are Japanese exclusives...we will NOT be seeing a general release of them in the Henkei line.
This time I actually feel sorry for those that want this toy and are going to find out how hard it is to get (or expensive).
Whatever though...

lol, nice SS CP
I might pick up the SW. He looks a lot nicer than the Hasbro release.
Botcon TC looks fine though
There's nothing wrong with making exclusive seekers, or henkai seekers. The problem is that the fandom's too immature to make sure they get one.
Even knowing that it'll be a bitch to get, I can't help but say MEGA LOLZ!!

Re: TakaraTomy Website Update - Henkei Skywarp & Thundercracker
If the preorder for this does not sell out within a day I will be VERY disappointed in all of you.
Everybody screamed and yelled for this and you're now given the opportunity. I want those without Botcon Thundercracker to not even give me a chance to order one.
Everybody was positive that he would sell as a mass release, so he better be impossible to find for the next 10 years.
Along those same lines of thinking everybody wanted to buy a trailer for Ultra Magnus and said that Hasbro was stupid for not making one. Why then, can I still buy the awesome upgrade kit for him?
Make me proud boys.

I must say that I am quite proud of us Seibertronians. This thread is about 77 posts long and there has only been one questionable post in the sense of flaming. This has been an informative civil discussion which I think is very cool.
I own the Botcon set myself and am ok with Takara/Tomy doing their own exclusive release of TC. If it gives others the opportunity to own it that is fine by me. I still enjoy my Classics TC just as much today as I have this past year. Since I don't intend to sell my Botcon set or make any money off of it then dropping in value doesn't concern me the least bit. And since I'll probably never be able to afford to go to Botcon then any change in "exclusivity" (like with TC here) doesn't really affect my going or purchasing a future Botcon set.
I must agree with CP though. This Japanese exclusive release of TC will be very hard to get and will be rather expensive. You are going to be sorely disappointed if you expect to get him at any "reasonable" price as many have hopefully elluded to

Aw crap. You mean I have to buy these guys again? Crap I say. Oh and CP I hear ya on the markups. I've ordered exclusives online before through Fan2Fan. Prices get very ridiculous very quickly. It really is a shame I'm a sucker for the faction symbols and G1 inspired decos. Meh, who needs money anyway?

Re: TakaraTomy Website Update - Henkei Skywarp & Thundercracker
Thundercracker: Pass. I'll stick with my Botcon version (the blue on this one looks a bit too close to Dirge's colour for me) and let the rest of you squabble over the few that make it into the west.
Skywarp: Probable maybe. Hoping the mark up here won't be quite as bad as it's going to be on 'Cracker since there's already been a relatively wide release of Classics 'Warp. If I can get hold of him I'll switch out the chromed launchers for my existing ones and get off the fence about Henkai 'Screamer, which I should have bought by now, but always seems to get just asay passed over for something else.
Clear Convoy: Hell yeah! Bring on the preorder.
And for the record even as an owner of the GoD set (and a UKer as well, geography isn't an excuse when you can order a non attending set direct from FunPub) I've always been in support of a Japanese release of at the very least Thundercracker. My posts on this subject can be found in most places where the subject of the Botcon Seekers has reared it's ugly head up until about six months ago when I finally got sick of discussing them all together. Even so, Counterpunch and others here are right. These are limited even on the Japanese market. Not a lot of them are going to find their way out of Japan and those that do are going to be pricey. I'd have rather seen them in the main Henkai line, even if just on the grounds that it might finally have killed all of the continuing bad blood going on here and elsewhere about the Botcon versions. That hasn't happened, so at the very least please accept a heart felt "good luck" to anyone who's going to try to grab this version of 'Cracker. It won't be easy or cheap, but at least you've got another crack of the whip on the character.

On the topic of figures/sets that are potentially devalued - what about the 2005 set's Ironhide figure. We're getting a brand new, and in some ways superior IH this fall for $10. Anyone think that the demand for the botcon version will plummet b/c of this? I know that I wanted that figure until I saw the Universe version. Now, I've got no use for that set.

Wow, just wow.
While it will be next to impossible to get a hold of these, this is still crazy news. The cost of these will be ridiculous.
I wonder how many "seeker completionists" will actually go for this when it hits the market at 100 bucks or so.

Yep
No one cared about Ironhide or Ratchet until Classics came around.
Ironhide will fall well below $100 and I expect Ratchet to slip to around $200-250.

Well that isnt really the same situation at all. The Universe Ironhide isnt the same mold or line.
The Botcon Ironhide mold would only be devalued if Hasbro or Takara repainted the mold and released it at retail.
You example is like me saying that my Armada Prime is devalued due to the release of Cybertron Prime.
On topic, the difficulty and expense of aquiring these new molds somewhat satisfies my irratation that they are being rereleased.
I guess in the end, trying to keep SW and TC as exclusives is playing with fire. These characters are simply to popular.
I think Botcon exclusives are better when they lean to the obscure, HasTak will never release the prebeast mode BW botcon set at mass retail, but I love that set to death.
I always thought of botcon sets as servicing the hardcore fans, producing repaints that appeal to a niche audience, not to the casual fan.
