Loose Missiles on Seekers

Postby Savage » Mon Oct 13, 2008 2:23 pm

Weapon: Diffraction Sword
I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I figured I'd start a thread to see which figures this issue is showing up in.

On my end, Universe Acid Storm and Henkei Thundercracker both suffer from this problem. Their missile launchers fall off their arms if I blow on them. Not exxagerating, it really happened.

Anybody else notice this problem on AS and TC? Any other Seekers as well?

And yes, I know clear nail polish will solve this problem.

Try tightening the screw in their arms first.

Yeah, I have the same problem with my AcidStorm. I ended up using some TP to add some thickness to the peg.

I tried this advice before, I think from you, and it didn't work for me. So the mold degredation begins!! You're the second person that I've read so far that has had the same problem with their TC. Makes me wonder if I really want Henkei TC now.

Yeah, I think it is an issue with Henkei TC, not sure about Acid Storm. But it pays to make sure before you start applying nail varnish or super glue.

Oh, and if the guns are fitting in the wing sockets fine but not the arm sockets, apply the varnish/glue to the arm socket, not the gun.

The one on the back of the shoulder? Tried it, no luck.

Another thing I notice, one of TC's wings keeps flopping back while in robot mode.

I thought Takara's QC was better than this. Still, I'm glad I got him.

Prime Evil: Trust me, you do. Unless you have BotCon TC, this guy is still worth every penny. I don't miss the coneheads, but I'm glad to finally have a Thundercracker to go with Starscream and Skywarp.

Sledge: Good tip about the wing sockets, I didn't check them yet, thanks!

I've read many accounts of Henkei Thundercracker being loose. In fact I don't think I've read of anybody not having a problem with him at all. Luckily it's easy to fix his problems.

Lucky. It seems like mold degradation to me. Starscream and Skywarp didn't suffer from these issues that I can recall, nor do I remember hearing many reports of it on the BotCon Set. Then again, if any mold has been used enough to deteriorate slightly, it's the Classics Seeker mold.

Lol, read this post an hour too late, just finished sanding the superglue off the guns and putting some in the socket, lol.

One of my classics Skywarps has this problem with his right shoulder. It must be down to the individual figure and how they were put together since my latest Henkei Skywarp is completely tight and has no problem holding on to his launchers. My Botcon Dirge also had floppy legs which hasn't been widely reported with Henkei Ramjet either.

This throws a spanner in the mold degredation argument: my original Classics Starscream had this problem! And it was the first figure I'd bought since Beast Wars! What a way to restart collecting.

Anyway... tightening the screws on the shoulder enough to secure the gun mde the shoulder immobile so I took the arm apart and filed down the inside to make the hole smaller.

Before you do anything, think, 'Is this what Sledge would do in my position?' and you will not go far wrong.
