Henkei Dirge and Thrust inbound

Or "Botcon Exclusivity argument round 2" if you prefer. Looks like the same deal as with Skywarp and TC, exclusice to Ganbo and Toy Hobby Market. Links: Dirge Thrust. No images yet.

There was a time that I would have been really interested in these. That time was before I got Henkei TC. Don't get me wrong, I love him. But I'm not sure I want to drop £70 on these two if they have the same problems as TC, and especially not if Hasbro are going to do them at some point (as has been sorta/kinda hinted that they might).

Thank you Takara for lowering the value of the Games of Deception set. I might actually be able to afford that set once these two figures are released. I just have to get my finances in better order and do some serious budgeting first.

Judging by the silouetes, these have different wings than the Botcon versions. Dirge's look like they may be more faithful to the original figure. Thrust looks like his rotors may be on his back set of wings. At any rate I already have the Botcon set, so I will be passing.

Well, the wings look kind of goofy on Thrust in that shadow pic... Idunno, half of me is saying, "Hooray for Joe Collector," while the other half is sarcastically screaming, "SO FREAKING GLAD I BOUGHT THAT EXCLUSIVE BOTCON SET!"

Schizophrenia blows.

It seems that Thrust will have his VTOL fans on the rear wings, and Dirge will include the smaller front wings on these releases according to the pictures.

At least they will be different from my Botcon seekers. I hope that all those who need them will get them, Just like with Thundercracker.

I'll be watching with interest to see what happens. Just not sure I'll be buying them. Curse you, Henkei Thundercracker! Curse you for robbing me of excitement for this news!

If thrust and dirge are different enough from their Botcon incarnations, I'll snatch them up. I love my seekers.

That's the nicest thing I've heard anyone say with regards to the whole henkei seekers thing.

I feel the same way....Had I not been as not-as-pleased-as-I-should-have-been with Henkei TC (I love him, mind you...just, well, we all know the issues with him), I would consider it....I am sure it is gonna be just too rich for my blood right now!

Damn my insane love for seekers! :-x

Can never have enough seekers. Got the BC set and I'll still be getting these two as well!!

Here's a thought. Funpub owned the Thrust molded wings (I assume), but since this is done by Takara, does that mean it's possible for Hasbro to release these 2 new molds in the US as new characters? If Takara owns these molds, doesn't that mean Hasbro does also?

Yes. As yet another round of Botcon/Henkei Seeker debate spins up around us, it is very cool to see some one say something nice about them. Nice one.

As much as I want these two they are just two expensive for me, just like Henkei Skywarp and Thundercracker. So looks like my G1 Seekers will remain incomplete until Hasbro decides if they want to release them in the universe line.

Maybe it might be worth getting a few Starscreams and painting them...

Hasbro did say they'd consider it, so... your guess is as good as anyone's.
