Knock Offs

Postby Nemesis Sturmvogel » Sat Aug 26, 2006 3:19 pm

Because there's no complete TF Discussion if we don't talk about Knock Offs

Here's my first Review: Transformable: Super Power Series

This Knock Off Line is one of the most impressive Chinese Bootlegs ever made (in my opinion).

The "Wave-1" of this line has Knock off versions of Robot Masters Optimus Prime, G1 Hot Rod, Soundblaster, Perceptor and Powermaster Optimus Prime

We saw bootlegs with ripped off TF Artwork, but the Bootleggers ripped the Japanese manual (They even put the Japanese Transformers logo)!

Wave-1 Figures

HOT ROD/HOT RODIMUS: Well, the bootleggers did a REALLY good job in this toy, they respected the colors of Hot Rod, but the flames of his chest are painted and not a sticker, he has metallic stickers and the metal parts, but the cockpit glass is not transparent, Hot Rod comes packaged with his Targetmaster Firebolt.

SOUNDBLASTER: The second figure in this wave, he comes packaged with Buzzsaw, and like Hot Rod, he has metallic stickers (I added him a Decepticon symbol from other KO), he has his missile launcher, a gun and three missiles.

PERCEPTOR: Third figure in the line Very impressive, and detailed for be a Knock Off, it has the same stuff like Soundblaster and Hot Rod, Perceptor comes packaged with Ravage.

ROBOT MASTERS CONVOY: Fourth figure, ignoring the simple colorscheme, this figure includes everything except the front for the trailer (And it's oversized than the original).

RM Convoy in Robot Mode (Size comparison with Energon Optimus Prime)

RM Convoy in Vehicle Mode (Again with E-Prime)

POWERMASTER OPTIMUS PRIME: Well, they resumed his Transformation because he doesn't transform in a Truck, his Transformation is the TRAILER!!, it cames packaged with a Galaxy Convoy cannon, and the cannon has lights! (Like the laser pointers)
Image

It looks like the line was successful because they made a Wave-2

Wave-2 Blister (It's bigger than Supreme Starscream box)
Image

The Wave-2 has Knock Off versions of the Legends of Cybertron figures
Image
Image

In Mexico the only figure who arrived was the Legends of Cybertron Optimus Prime (The chinese give him the Super Mode Weapons and Wings!, the legs of this figure are from the RM Convoy)
Image

The wings are not of plastic, they're from cardboard, so take care of them.

Figures of Wave-2
- LOC Optimus Prime
- LOC Starscream
- LOC Hot-Shot
- LOC Scourge
- LOC Megatron
- LOC Evac
- LOC Jetfire

Quality of figures: The figures of both waves have a good quality, are perfect for repair G1 toys, or for complete your collection.

I actually like the legs on that knock-off LOC Op better than the proper legs.

Well, the Wave-1 figures costed 85 pesos (8.5 dollars) and the LOC 135 pesos (13.5 dollars), but unfortunately the shops didn't released more TF KO's.

My brother and I got one of these sets on ebay for $55 shipped. It included every figure in this thread. There were also leg extensions for Soundblaster and Percepter. They were pretty darn stupid. My brother is keeping Soundblaster and his accessories, and I'm keeping the Prime guys, but if someone is interested in the Hot Rod or Perceptor, I'd be willing to part with them.
