Takara Hints at Upcoming Masterpieces

Forgive me if this has already been posted (after a quick scanning I didn't see a topic yet) - Takara has hinted at the next upcoming Masterpieces. Seems like Ultra Magnus, Megatron, and Soundwave are contenders.

TFW had the following posted:

After reading a thread on a different forum by someone "in the know" the next Masterpiece will be a new mold of Starscream with a different type of jet as his alt mode. Then another hint was dropped and by analyzing it, it sounds like Ultra Magnus may come after Starscream.

Trust me, it is very credible.

To be perfectly honest I would hope for no more MP Megs.

Australians had enough hassle getting the last one into the country because of our retarded customs laws.

I'm going to start wanting more MP scale the Movie characters! Even if they're not Masterpieces Blurr, Kup, Wreck-Gar, Arcee, Wheelie, Springer... They're like a team moreso than any other noncombining (non-Wreckers) group. Even if they're Alternators scale, as long as Arcee isn't a repaint of Windcharger again.

EDIT: Man, I have to stop posting after not sleeping for 2 days!

That Magnus custom looks like it has almost no shoulder articulation. Pass. I'd much rather have a good Megatron to go with the new Prime and then a bunch of entirely new characters.

Masterpiece Soundwave sounds like it would be lame.

I mean he basically transforms into a box. I know he would have great articulation and the cassettes would be cool but I'd rather have a MP with a more intriguing alt mode.
Looking for the Megatron gun (or just the stock) that came with 20th anniversary MP Optimus Prime.

MP Magnus done right, cool. Megs done in he same scale, I suppose (though I vote G1.) Redo Starscream...f*#king lame. Could they do a better job? Probably. Do I want to buy the same effing figures in the same size 10 times over? Not really...

Just to let you guys know, in the same thread it was made clear that Megatron was not in the cards in the near future (at least up to MP 15) either. If I remember right, neither was Soundwave but I'm not 100% on Soundwave.

A quote about MP 11.

Sorry if I caused confusion. But to summarize:-
Plane - Real Life accurate. As for what type of plane, sorry, can't disclose that. Hope you understand.
Bot - G1 Anime accurate, Nuff said.

And with other hints it is a popular consensus the the new seeker will be an F-14 instead of the F-15.

He is legit and many will attest to it from the past. He is somehow involved whether he works for Takara or possibly Hasbro or something but he has been a prominent figure of truth.

It's possible to give Soundwave a more complex transformation, so he's not so boring.

The Federal Government basically said "he's not a permitted firearm replica". Then it boiled down to the State Government laws. Certain states would allow you to own him, provided you had a firearms license while others simply refused ownership of him completely.

I know, he was oversized but sadly he was classified as a replica firearm.

I recall a story of a number of Megatron's coming into Western Australia being seized. Frankly I think it might be easier to import Mortal Kombat (even though that attracted a $10,000 fine)

Regarding the possibility of a new MP Megatron, I just don't know how they plan to improve the thickness of his feet. If he's going to follow the G1 toy's transformation, them either he's going to have wafer-thin legs or a ridiculously thick gun handle.

Personally, I'm hoping for a MP Soundwave instead.

MP Starscream in a different jet mode sounds interesting, too.

I kinda want MP Galvatron to be the next 100% new mold. I don't mind ultra magnus being MP-11 because it's using a previous mold with a new trailer/armor.

I might buy MP Ultra magnus if the armor has more articulation. I can see myself not buying MP-10 & buying MP ultra magnus instead.

I want a new mold MP Megatron to be more cartoon accurate. where the entire gun+riffle guns extensions Didn't detach & transformed into a megatron robot mode.

I own & di-like the previous MP megatron toy. I want a new mold made with thick legs, arms & body parts & with better joint tecnology like ratchet joints. I also want it to be 9 inches tall in robot mode.

I guess if other fans want a MP soundwave so much. then they deserve to get one. while soundwave is not on my top 10 list of MP TF toys I want to get made. I might buy it if it's done to my desired preferences & it's around or under 8 inches tall in robot mode. Ofcause i'll wait for the hasbro cheaper priced version to buy.

Why 8 inches? Hopefully there are not any further reductions is size to this line. Im ok with the first reduction but they get much smaller why even bother with calling them Masterpieces. 10 inches is just about perfect. 12 inches was cool but was a bit much for display purposes.

I dont buy the secret source info. While I do believe Tak is retarded enough to do a new Starscream mode, why an F14? that makes no sense. Both jets are dated and most people could not differentiate between the two anyway. SS was an F15 period. Changing him to an F14 is mind boggling since its not even a more modern fighter plane. If the report was he was going to be the F22 I could see the point . If they do produce another SS I am done with the Masterpiece collecting. Not buying three more seekers period.

I would like to think it would be bad for business but seeing how many people are gaga over the new Prime I don't put it past the consumer to reward this nonsense. In the first season alone there are plenty of great characters to re-vist with a Masterpiece to be doing the same **** over and over. FFS who is in charge over there?

I will pass on a Galvatron but even he would be more welcome on my shelf than a half grand of newish seekers. As I am writing this I am realizing that it is pointless to state my opinion because I am sure half the fandom will get all geeked up on this idea and render more logical opinions mute resulting in a bunch of already been done to death ideas. Proof is already there seeing how 70% of the produced figures are the same damn guys over and over.

Why do I want MP Sounwave in Robot mode to be 8 inches tall? Answer, because I want everything to be in proper size scale. I only want the faction leader to be the tallest. MP-09 is about 9.5 inches tall in robot mode. MP-10 looks to be about 9.3 inches tall in robot mode. MP Soundwave deserves to be 8 inches tall or less so he's in scale with MP Grimlock who was taller & MP Starscream who is around 8 inches tall in robot mode.

Takara,Hasbro & Fans are making believe the MP-01 & MP Megatron gigantic 12 inches to 14 inches toys don't exist. as their out of scale with evetything. rumors circulating is Takara MIGHT create a smaller scale MP Megatron new mold to make it in better scale.

I like the MP faction leaders to be around 9 inches tall. so their in size scale with other toy lines faction leaders like AEC,Animated, movie verse & Rid.

Assuming that your measuring from the highest point, since Starscream and Grimlocks shoulders are higher than their heads, that would make the Galvatron you want a head shorter than Rodimus and Starscream.

Optimus is taller than Rodimus (as Hot Rod) and Megatron is taller than Starscream. Grimlock is the only one out of scale really.

I can see making Optimus shorter to be in scale with Rodimus as a Prime, which also somewhat corrects Grimlock. But if Galvatron is only 8 and Soundwave was 8 as well now we need to shrink the seekers to "stay in scale".

I think Soundwave is a bit taller than SS, right?

If a Galv/Soundwave got released at the current size of 9.5or so inches all is well.

I'd love an MP Soundwave, but I must agree. His G1 transformation is more or less a perfect way to get a robot to turn into a tape deck, so I'm not even really sure we'd get an innovative transformation out of it. It would really be a bummer if his transformation was even the same.

With the recent one being Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime, it would make sense to get Galvatron or some other 86 movie Decepticon.
