Prime Smokescreen: Possible Bumblebee Repaint
- Weapon: Seven-Year Sword
just from the short trailer i seems like he might me a repaint just because of how his doors are like wings just like bumblebees. Hopefully i’m completely wrong because we already have RID Bumblebee, FE bumblebee, hotshot, and Stealth Bumblebee. any thoughts?

I think back in the Japanese toy fair, it was announced that AM Smokescreen was a repaint of Knockout...

Then after awhile some rumors started spreading that it's actually a Bumblebee repaint...

wooooooow that’s not much better. hotshot fine he’s not in the show but smokescreen actually is and has his own look. What the hell is with all these repaints in one line the only time i can think of when we got repaints is when they took one from an earlier toyline and bring it to a current one

He's a retool of Knock Out. If you ask me, the animation model looks like a moderately altered version of Knock Out.

Agreed. I suspect it'll be a FoC Jazz/Sideswipe situation. New and remolded car parts and head.

Except that they'd have to re-engineer his arm structure for it to properly work. I'm thinking instead of the roof and doors becoming his arms, that the wheel and door move out on a hinge and his arms fold down from behind the doors. Then the wheel folds back on to the wheel, and his shoulder tabs into the other side of the wheel. The rest of him will transform like Knock Out with the roof filling in the back of the figure (because we all know how incredibly hollow KO's back is). The door/wheel/shoulder assembly will tab into pegs on the upper part of his windshield. I think that would make the perfect retool/re-engineering of Knock Out for Smokescreen.

I'd only bet on the head. Think of it this way: Swerve and Smokescreen may share a deeper connection based on their parent molds: Breakdown and Knock Out.

I'm looking at knockout right now and that may work.

It took me a day of thought and drawing (terrible) pictures and models for me to come up with it. If they re-engineer Smokescreen like that, he'd be perfect, and I'd buy the hell out of that toy.
