Okay, here is the sequel to Undercover. Strongarm is starting to heal up, but the Decepticons are about to invade the Autobot base on Diego Garcia. Lennox and Epps will be featured, along with random NEST soldiers, but no humans are essential to the plot, other than fighting off Decepticons. The main characters in this story are Hoist and Wideload. Minor characters include Skids, Mudflap, Ratchet, and Bumblebee.
Hoist watched Strongarm go and turned back to the computer console he was currently manning. Without looking up, he knew that Ratchet had reentered the medical bay.
"That's one tough bot," he observed.
"Agreed," Ratchet said. "He took more punishment than most of us could."
Hoist and Ratchet jumped aside as Skids and Mudflap, the Twins, raced through the room in vehicle mode. The two young Autobots were known for their pranks and immaturity. Hoist transformed and raced after them, towtruck sirens blazing.
"Skids! Mudflap!" he said. "GET BACK HERE!"
He transformed into robot mode, leapt over the twins, and stood his ground. Skids and Mudflap screeched to a halt. Hoist looked down at them with a terrible gleam in his eyes. A delivery truck marked "Energon Express" pulled up.
"Sorry, Hoist," the truck said. "I was supposed to be watching these two, but they gave me the slip."
"It's okay, Wideload," Hoist replied. "But maybe a gag and lasso would help."
"Aw, c'mon!" Skids cried. "We wuz just racin'!"
"I know," Hoist said. "And the rules say, no racing inside the base!"
"But it's rainin' outside, an' we wanna race!" cried Mudflap.
He and his twin transformed into robot mode and looked up at Hoist. The Autobot glared down at them, never taking his eyes off of them. After a moment of the death glare, Skids and Mudflap hung their heads in shame and walked away. Wideload followed.
"Those two," Hoist muttered. "They're gonna be the death of us."
He turned and walked away, chuckling to himself. As he entered the repair bay, he found that the five Aerialbots - Silverbolt, Air Raid, Skydive, Fireflight, and Airazor - were being repaired. All five of them were badly ripped up. Ratchet's eyes were downcast.
"Not good, eh?" Hoist asked.
"No," Ratchet replied. "I can fix them, but it will take a long time."
Hoist shook his head. Sometimes, it seemed like the Decepticons had started the war just so they could rip up Autobots for fun. In reality, that was just a bonus.
Wideload sat in the hangar, watching Skids and Mudflap chase each other around, firing training lasers. It was good that they were using training lasers, because if not, they would be causing general havoc due to ricochets and missed shots.
"Come on, kids!" he said. "Settle down, and let's do something quiet!"
Skids and Mudflap sighed, dropped the training lasers, and sat in a corner. Wideload gave them each a holographic video game and ordered them to stay in the corner.
"I'll be back in a few minutes," he said. "I'm going to eat lunch. If either of you get up, you will be confined to quarters for a month."
"Yes, sir," Skids said.
Wideload turned and walked down the hallway. As he left the hangar, he knelt and got close the the seated Jolt.
"Watch them," he said.
He chuckled to himself and entered the cafeteria. The Autobots inside the large eating room included Sideswipe, Dune Runner, and Swerve. Wideload picked up a large block of energon and sat down. As he enjoyed his meal, he thought of the two pranksters.
Suddenly, there was an explosion.
Skids, Mudflap, and Jolt came running down the hall. Wideload stood up and was ready to scold the Twins, when he noticed laser fire coming from the hangar.
"Decepticon attack!" he said.
Clenching his fists, he ran to assist the three young Autobots. He immediately encountered two Payload drones. After punching one drone's head off, he whirled around and flip kicked the other.
"Get behind me!" he ordered.
Skids and Mudflap retreated into the cafeteria. Jolt and Wideload charged ahead; one's fists whirling, the other spitting electricity from his whips as he slashed the Decepticons. First one alarm, then another blared loudly.
"How did they find us?" Wideload asked.
From down the hall, Strognarm came running.
"I think it's my fault!" he said.
He pulled a tracer off his back and smashed it. Then, raising his axe, he prepared to fight. Now, more Autobots charged into the corridor, weapons blazing. What would happen next? Wideload could only hope that it didn't hurt much.
