Cool, I really dig Jeffrey Combs, i'm a huge B-movie & horror fanatic. He's one of my favorites, just below Bruce Campbell & Malcolm McDowell. He could do a good Ratchet & one of his co-stars from Feardotcom, Stephen Rea would do great to voice a decepticon scientist/ torturer(you need to hear this guy talk, it's just creepy as all get out.) As for seeing the show on-air, I don't think i'm going to buy more channels just to get one channel to watch one show. I might watch 2 1/2 hours of tv a week at best, so i'll just catch an HDTV rip torrent or find it on Youtube/BlazinAnime or something like that. The name could be worked on, but Transformers: Prime is better than Transformers: Destruction Of My Wallet.

I do as well. I loved him in The 4400 (what ever happened to that show? I guess it got cancelled) and in The Frighteners as well. Based upon his performances in these projects, I think he will be perfect to voice Ratchet.

I'm glad he's going to be in it. I always liked him as Weyoun and Brunt on DS9. Shran on Enterprise was pretty good too. But he totally rocked it as the Question. The Question was the best character on Justice League: Unlimited.
As for everyone who is already saying the cartoon is going to suck just by it's name... Remember how everyone freaked when we saw the first images of Transformers: Animated? Think about how cool that turned out to be.

I like Jeffrey Combs. Mostly remember him from his Star Trek appearances (Weyoun FTW!) and depending on what kind of Ratchet the new show's gonna have, he may fit right in. I remember similar speculation over several Animated casting choices, too. (ex. "Megatron as Prime? WTF?!")
I'm just hoping that, though undoubtedly aimed at children, the show is handled by someone with knowledge of the brand and it's fans, willing to thrown in that little extra for us old schoolers (like Animated had)

As for the title "Prime" It's a bit bland, but probably very topical. Only time will tell.

I think it's safe to say that this new cartoon will be kid-focused & that it'll be your traditional cartoon (26 episode season), not CGI.

The question is, will it be more like Animated or RID & Unicron Trilogy? I hope it's not the latter.

Is this that thing they said was gonna be a sequel to RID?
if it is...BLEH, I hated RID, I thought it was a reshowing of G1(what was I thinking?), My mom had said the awesomeness of G1 and I couldn't wait to see it then when I saw RID.......ugh.


Here's hoping the series will be nowhere near as bad as RID was to me.

i got a bad feeling this is gonna be a kid-friendly show, like marvel super hero squad cartoon (the game is fun, but not the cartoon... also a good example is the new batman cartoon "the brave and the bold".. oh man there goes our awesome, cool, action, adventurer, violent, kick ass, cartoon/anime shows... there are somethings that should be left alone.

I hope it will be dramatic, epic, like Armada! But...I have a bad feeling it's kid-themed like Animated. Rather than just the feel of the show, what else that could either make it or brake it is the designs/animation. If it looks like Animated or Energon, its fail to me. Especially Animated, I can't stand the look of some of the faces, like Starscream, mostly because of the ugly toys it produces. I hope it follows Armada's style, I think that'll translate great into what we've seen so far of WFC.

it's official. Hasbro has run out of names for their serieses. If this is anything like RID, then count this series as a bad one. RID never interested me; I guess I'll just have to wait for more info. And hey what about WFC, Power Core Combiners, and whatever series Seaspray is in, maybe that's this?

This sounds like is heading towards sucksville in a big way and I have a gut feeling also that this could be like that crappy Marvel Super Hero Squad show.

Also I to do feel like this is being aimed at younger kids 8-12 also look at the channel it is on 179 Kids Discovery on Dish Network which will be re-named The Hub Sometime this Fall 2010.

I have this channel so I will check out this show but I am getting bad vibes from it already just buy the crappy generic name of the show.

But like you people said they are running out of names or ideas to use.

Look if they are that hard up for names come to me I have names look how many sub-titles I came up for Transformers 3 what makes you think I couldnt do the same for the cartoon series.

I mean Prime I could understand the name of the series if new the details of the plot to it.

Also I am kinda of curious but also scared at the same time of the next art style being used in the show will it look like Animated once again, or will it be kiddy style like Super Hero Squad or will it be done like Cybertron style or will it be done in Tech style such as Beast Wars.

I guess only time will tell since nothing is known or been shown yet.

Have people forgotten how generic the name Transformers: Animated actually is? it's referring to a style of art. At least Transformers: Prime is using a phrase associated with Transformers.

How is the subtitle "Prime" any less creative than "Energon," "Cybertron," "Animated," or "Robots in Disguise?" And how is a name any indication on how good a work is?

Joking aside, I'm curious as to what the 'look' of the Transformers will be. I liked Animated's stylizing as well as the Bayformer's alien craziness, I can't wait to see what direction Prime goes.

Got an email the other day from Derrick Wyatt lead art director of Animated.

I asked him if he was working on Prime as lead art director once again he says no he isnt he told me he didnt even know about Prime.

He says his next project his called Scooby Doo Incorporated which is being done like Animated and Teen Titan style and is set to debut on CN later this fall.

He said he hoped his favorite character Swindle is in this new series and I said the only confirmed character is Ratchet at the moment.

He says he is also excited about the new series also.



So it looks like Prime will have a new art director and that worries me about it lookin more like Marvel Super Hero Squad god please dont let it look like that BS.

Actually, according to Michael Bell, who also tried out for Ratchet, there is also a character named General Fowler. If Combs got the job as Ratchet, I hope Bell still has a role in the show. He's a great guy and I want to see him in the new series.

Well I approve of Combs being this new toon. Never seen Re-Animator but my horror movie mad mates like it so that's good enough for me.There's a pattern emerging with horror actors voicing TF's (Tony Todd as the Fallen). Get Bruce Campbell to voice a TF and I'll be a happy fangirl. Sucks that Michael Bell didn't get the part but Im wishing he is in the show anyway as someone for us old fans to enjoy. We love ya Michael.
