Couldn't get enough of Transformers: Prime when you saw Bumblebee and Optimus Prime? We finally get more character reveals, courtesy of Hasbro's Transformers: Prime Panel at the San Diego Comic Con 2010. Thanks to the snappy cameras from the folks over at TFW2005, we get a glimpse at Transformers: Prime - Megatron, Decepticon Troopers, Ratchet, Cliffjumper and Arcee! And what Transformers cartoon would be complete without some Humans! We get a glimpse at three of the kids playing a part in Transformers: Prime, Jack Darby, Miko Tezuka, and Rafael Esquivel. To top it all off, there's the alternate modes for Bumblebee and Optimus Prime! Cliffjumper got an official "Oh MY God! That's awesome!" from me. I really like the horns on the hood. Ratchet and Arcee are both win.

Megatron, on the other hand... I'm not so sure about that. I'll probably need to see it in action before my opinion is secure, but I am willing to let it grow on me.

Also, just to clarify, they did say at botcon that there are no plans for a Prime toyline. (a bit unfortunate for Cliffjumper) But hey, maybe they will put a few in Generations?

This is the first time in my 20 something years of my fascination with the transformers franchise that I'm actually a little excited. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it feels like there are people who care about the original G1 cartoon working on this new one. As long as they don't make the autobots militaristic in nature, I'm of the opinion they'll succeed in their efforts.

The robot modes look way too sleek like the designers didn't give any thought to practical transformations. Optimus Prime especially looks like he would be very kibbly if they ever made a toy. But then again, they have made leaps and bounds with the movie transformations lately.

Wow, I'm really excited now! I was kind of meh about the Optimus statue, but these designs are just stunning. They're very sleek and cool looking. Augh, I can't wait to see more now, I really hope this series does well!

And yay for Cliffjumper getting to be a little more awesome now XD. I always did like him, and those horns are terribly cute.

I just hope they get us all excited and make an excellent series that we all end up loving and then have it end all of a sudden like Animated. They really could have done another season of Animated!

I'm totally loving Ratchet's and Cliffjumper's designs I'm not digging the 3 human chars though (especially the "nerdy" one). Why are there 3? Last thing I really want is a human team. I liked Sari cause she was only one kid and she didn't steal the show from the bots. I will still give the show a shot, but I worry about mini-Spikes...

ZHOMG! All of these are awesome!!! Except Arcee's colors. I mean, she ould be awesome, if only she wasnt freaking BLUE!!! Arcee should always be pink. Thats like if Optimus was purple and Megatron was orange! You just dont do it! ANd Cliffjumper looks too bulky.

I can see why, since Prime is movie based, but at the same time not looking movie-ish, it's toys wouldn't go with the movie line well....but then again, I can't see why O_o

The human characters will probably be annoying, I also don't get the random 3 different races thing they do in every series....I'd rather just little to no humans, we don't want another Kicker...

I know what you mean, there are too many large smooth rounded parts on the robots to transform. Arcee doesn't even have wheels in robot mode. They all look kinda generic and don't have a lot of distinguishing features.

That Ratchet is one of the best Transformers robot designs in the last few years. It's nice to see him back to being a bit sleeker, and not an old man.

Cliffjumper also looks nice.

Glad to see the bug faces are gone with the exception of Bumblebee- which is just stupid. Sick of his weird Johnny 5 look. Please bring back the face. Plus it's weird and inconsistent with the otherwise awesome design work.

Maybe it's just a battlemask. One can hope.

Megatron is a little too spiny for my tastes. He looks less like a Transformer, and more like an empty suit of armor.


So with all this work being put into clean silhouettes and nice faces and good design work in general- a big question still remains. How could the movies look any worse? Here's yet another cartoon outclassing them.

The one other movie aspect I don't like are Prime's chest windows. They come out too far- like he has weird implants. I can see that they were trying to homage the movie, and also make him look all muscly- but the just look awkward.

WOAH WOAH WOAH! Whats this I hear about there not being a toyline for Prime? A show with good designs after the trash that was Animated (IMO), and no toyline? WTF!

Looking at those pictures i'm back to not being overly impressed.

But then I look at the animation sample and I am impressed.
