Renegades clicked in all cylinders.



What I was displeased with this show:



-Lack of awesome TF Intro

-Soundwave's WIMPY A** VOICE!!!!! WTF was that??!!!

-During the fight scenes...the Audio lowered in volume, what is up with that? Did anyone else have that problem??

-Lack of Megs and Starscream in action (Animated was awesome in that the Decepticons are more powerful than the Autobots)



Everything else was AWESOME!!!!!

Apparently problem with cable companies that didn't broadcast in HD (?) NY was widescreen, HD with stereo booming epic sound. Hopefully the cable companies will figure it out pronto.

Only watched pt 1 so far (pt 2 awaits on the DVR) but thought it was really really good. While I did have some minor quibbles (silent Bumblebee, Prime with a mouth, etc.) they didn't take away from this being some of the best TF I've seen in a long time. Michael Bay should take notes on exciting CGI fights where you can actually see what's going on!

It's just too bad there are no toys (Generations WFC notwithstanding) yet. I really want me a Cliff Jumper now.

Thanks for the tip that the second episode was up. I've been waiting for it all day today. And I couldn't find the guy's channel. Megatron is a friggin' badass! Can't wait to hear more of him. As for his final act in the episode, he couldn't have been more retarded than anything else I've ever seen. I mean really, why in God's name would you take a shard of zombie-making-goo and stab yourself in the chest with it?!?

As I expected Prime had the better (not by much) animation while Renegades had the better story. We got Rick-Rolled on the involvement of The Rock although I see the Cliffjumper story being an arc for the season. We were also Rick-Rolled on Frank Welker, he cannot do Megatron anymore and should be replaced. The actress doing Miko sounds like she can barely say her lines in English and it's distracting; give her the Spanish archer as well, el-bow. Soundwave isn't going to have a voice outside of playing back the conversations of others. The human animation needs to be tightened up a lot. I'll try to keep watching the show to see if Cliffjumper comes back but I'm not going to make any special effort.

The Hub world special before hand was great, shame it was dominated by that other TF site.

Animation - Good.
Voices - Average
Story - Good start! Better keep up the pace.

What I didn't like? The look of the bots, skinny, razor sharp, I like my bricks.

What I do like? Back to the basics of energon, but they've introduced a new twist with dark energon and with that a dead Cliffjumper (bring back the Brahma Bull!) and a Megatron who's twisted enough to experiment on himself.

What I thought of the show it was very good. I liked it alot. Can't wait to see more. My son who is seven, was completely overwhelmed with it. His jaw dropped when it came on and didn't close till commercial.He was sitting on the edge of his seat literally almost the entire time, and pulled the "all,man" when it was to be continued (after the first and second episode). yes he didn't relize that he was going to see two episodes. We can't wait to see more.

Yeah, we missed you Mister Welker. Good to know you are back as Megatron for a full serie. Wait - What do you mean it was more about Megatron announcing he was back? Isn't that what im already saying?

(Still, I miss David Kaye's James Bond villain-esque Megatron. However, I doubt it would have fitted this incarnation of the character.)

Looking back at the book and game, I noticed that the book called Dark Energon the "Spark of Unicron", whereas the show called it the "Blood of Unicron". Maybe there's different variations of the stuff, with the "spark" being the addictive power up in the game/book, and the "blood" being the rarer substance that turns the dead into undead.

Not to mention that the game/book illustrated Dark Energon to emanate from one's body in a ghastly, energized aura form. While the show had it emanate as a liquid goo instead. This kinda works with what I've said above, as sparks are energizing in appearance, and blood is a liquid.

Or, maybe I'm just overthinking this and it's just a discrepancy.

Having watched all 5 episodes I have to say that they show has failed to hold my interest and I doubt I'll be back for the full season. Having been conned on the Rock and Welkers voice roles really took me out of it.

It creates another continuity error; Megatron did that exact thing in the very first mission in War for Cybertron, and Starscream watched him do it. Starscream even joined the Decepticons because he was impressed Megatron could use Dark Energon!

It's supposed to be the same continuity as War for Cybertron (Though that's been pretty much proven false), it takes influences from WfC, Animated, and the movies, though. But if you don't like a series because it takes partial influence from a series you didn't like, Transformers is probably not for you.

Prime and most of the other Transformers have mouths because somewhere along the way animators lost the ability to emote without the use of mouths. It's funny but 25 years ago there was a Transformers story book that featured a G1 Prime with a fully detailed face.

I had that book. I hated how Optimus looked in it. He doesn't need an expressive face for me to know how he feels; I can hear it in his voice.
