The more I look at it, the less I see of Prime. I mean the colours are spot on, the weapons are there, the bot mode is good and the truck mode is too, but it's not Optimus to me. Looks more like a doppelganger trying to be Optimus.

I look forward to having him on my shelf, but not as Optimus.

That you for pointing that out. I was wondering what it was that wasn't quite knocking it out of the park. It is definitely getting bought, but I think you hit the nail on the head with what you said.

You know what I'm getting flashbacks of with this fig? When Hasbro made the new "Optimus Primal" mold back for the 20th anniversary line. That's the vibe I'm getting...same type of remake.

Wow, that´s a really awesome mold!
but I´m afraid I share the general opinion, the color scheme is ugly and not G2 ugly, just ugly, I mean, as far as I know, G2 prime didn´t have that blue in the truck mode, it was all black, wasn´t it?
also I agree, It´s badass, but not as an OP toy, his head looks kinda evil and his feet need to have a more blockish feel, not in te articulation, but on the desing, they´re too angular for my taste.
But paint this as Scourge and I´d kill for it!!!

This is the worst Optimus ever. How dare they put movie flames on him so that he is disqualified from Transformers...because he's not allowed to have flames. And how dare he look movieverse. That's total sacrilege and a total insult to all Transformers.

Nahh I'm just kidding! I mean, seriously. What is so bad about this guy? I understand he's not an exact replica of the almighty epic Laser Prime, but I just don't see why all the hate is coming up. I mean, from fans' description who saw it first, I thought this was going to be a real G2 Prime that looked JUST liked the original, and I didn't like him at first. But every time I see him I want to buy him because he looks DIFFERENT. Not the same plain red short-nose truck. Plus he's extremely poseable and he appears to have a lot of detail. I don't get the whole flames deal either. Ever since they introduced flames to alt-modes people have gotten so worked up over them.

But I have my fingers crossed for a Nemesis Prime or a Magnus.

Yea i didn't think he looked that good at first either, but i am surprised, looks awesome, although i wouldn't want him in those prime colours, some sort of Decepticon would be great, yea, scourge would work, although i wouldn't be calling him scourge..but figure out some other truck Decepticon who he resembles sort of.
