I grew up on Beast Wars, Beast Machines, and RiD, thus they hold great sentimental value for me

Why, what'd you grow up on? I'm glad to have been introduced to the series by the one that holds the highest regard among the majority of the fandom (BW).

In effect, two VHS tapes, each with material that was copied from tapes that my mom rented from Blockbuster. One tape had most of Season 1, though the episodes were in the wrong order (since we had no idea what the correct order was and not every video store had every episode). The other tape had a censored version of the movie and "The Return of Optimus Prime".

Oh and, FWIW, your opinion is not Word of God.

No offense, but that's kinda sad.

Hardly. I got to see the good parts of G1 - "Fire in the Sky", "SOS Dinobots", "War of the Dinobots", "The Ultimate Doom", "Heavy Metal War", the movie, etc. - without suffering through stuff like "The Girl who Loved Powerglide" and "The Rebirth".

It's certainly a million times better than growing up on RID or the first season of BW.

...Not really.

Though, I grew up on the RiD toys more than the cartoon, since I was unable to see most of it until 2007. But I did see all of the two Beast Era cartoons, which were a blast from start to finish.

Once I did finally get to see all of RiD, however, it started off kinda slow, got more and more epic as it continued, with better characters like Scourge, Ultra Magnus, and Fortess Maximus coming into play, making the stakes higher and the scales grander.

BTW, Beast Wars season 1 was the first (and, until more than a decade later, the only) TF series to win an Emmy. Whne Prime won its two Emmys, they were just two of the exact same award Beast Wars won (only reason it won two was because of there being two people instead of one this time).

BW season 1 was crap... BW didn't get any good writers until S2, and then it really got awesome. Still not as good as TFTM, though

Um, many of the same people who wrote for the first season wrote for the second and third.

And, like I said, season 1 won the Emmy, not season 2 or 3.

I'm not saying season 2/3 weren't great. i'm saying that season 1 wasn't awful.
