I heard Prime was going to add Dinobots at some point. Is this true or were they shot down by Hasbro?

Hasbro was gonna retire the Dinobots BEFORE they made it into FoC. Now though... no one but Hasbro knows for sure.dinojack86 wrote:I had hoped to see the Dinobots but from what some are saying Hasbro doesn't "do" Dinobots anymore which in my opinion is preposterous. What kid doesn't dig dinosaurs that transform into robots and back? I may be a little biased but the Dinobots are one of the reasons I loved Transformers as a kid. I don't know, it just surprises especially how prominently he's been featured for FOC. Makes me wonderjust how big his role really is after all.

I dont think theyll be the same size, that wouldnt make sense

Why is everyone on pins and needles about these exclusives? If you really want them, you WILL get a fair shot at regular manufacturer's pricing. Just keep your ear to the ground. Heck, you can still order the SDCC First Edition Deluxe Optimus Prime in the special Matrix of Leadership packaging AND the NYCC Prime Bumblebee Taxi and G1 colors Arcee set.
thats what im hoping, cuz i kinda want that bruticus, and i Definitely want the zombie cliff

Bigger deluxe = Smaller Voyager with extra accessories
Seems to fit nicely.

What justice is there to do? The only ones that have been shown were Rumble, Frenzy, and Laserbeak, in War for Cybertron. Laserbeak resembles his video game counterpart fairly well, except for the wing shape. Rumble and Frenzy are a similar case. You have to make exceptions to figures when something that is 2 inches tall is designed to transform.
We've never even seen Ravage in the Aligned Community (WFC/FOC+Prime), so who knows if he looks accurate or not.

Fall of Cybertron Bruticus giftset: Even game accurate colour schemes aren't enough to make me want these figures anymore. Uber pass.
As for the rest, I'll probably end up getting most of them but there's nothing that particularly blows me away. I'm highly impressed/stunned Hasbro is releasing MP-10 with its trailer, and I'm very happy voyager class figures are coming to Generations. Gives me hope for what's to come in 2013.

You have to make "exceptions" when Hasbro makes a 2 inch Transformer. 3rd party companies such as PE for example seem to make their 2 inch or less transform just fine with full articulation and heaps of detail. Don't make excuses for lazy piss poor design.

Ha! good point. But that's just what a 3rd party company charges for an item of limited run. Who knows,in reality, the actual cost of the figure. I bet if Hasbro made PE-09 and with all their resources they could sell it for 5 to 10 bucks much like legends class figs. Just a couple extra ball joints and a little more detail on a Legends figure and you have fully articulated and aestheticly pleasing TF.

I feel like the fact that the price is that much higher is simply because Hasbro isn't making them that articulated. All it is, is more balljoints... and more time spent in the planning process I guess. I'm probably over-simplifying, but you get my point. Hasbro is making this for kids who don't really care about articulation and.. the cool other stuff that really matters.

Hasbro Transformers also must go through more crap to get approved. Safety tests, drop tests, etc. 3rd party robots do not. Hasbro toys are also limited by budget. If a design exceeds $x, they must make it simpler. That's why toys like Universe Galvatron were made smaller. That's why toys like RoTF Devastator were made simpler.monstergrotusque wrote:Gearslide wrote: You have to make exceptions to figures when something that is 2 inches tall is designed to transform.

I agree that it's BS, but there's nothing we can do about it, sadly.

You make it sound like you were there in person and held them in your hand. The figures aren't even out yet, and quite a few of the figures that were on display were mistransformed (looking at you, Insecticon!). I happen to love the Aligned continuity, ESPECIALLY the War for Cybertron game. To me, these figures are the perfect balance of accuracy and size limitations.
Either way, I'm going to reserve judgment until we get some in hand images, so Rumble (or is that Frenzy?) isn't just standing upright with arms to the side.

The hasbro panel was pretty mute when someone mentioned dinobots. They gave their usual "Stay tuned" answer ~shakes fist at aaron archer~:P We could see a big grimlock but the rest , if they do in fact get made, Will more than likely be deluxe.. They've already more than tripled the figure output of the 1st game so it will be intresting to see if the Dbots do get a gren light.~ crosses fingers for swoop~

I'm personally hoping for Snarl and Sludge. Poor bastards haven't had a toy since their original G1 molds. I'm hoping at least Sludge to be Voyager though, but I'll be happy if he's released at all.LiKwid wrote:crosses fingers for swoop~

Depends what you mean. There was a 'Snarl' in Beast Machines (toy-wise anyway), and A 'Snarl' in Animated.
And there were a bunch of Armada Walmart Exclusive two-packs that had the dinobots in them. Snarl was in there from BW, BW2 mold (or neo), I'm not good with my BW.
Speaking of BW, the Snarl name also was used for like a badger, or some such small, mean mammal, I think. Again, not great with my BW stuff.
And there was a justitoys re-release of the G1, albeit shrunk and unofficial.

I like it. I'm gonna pick it up and the inevitable Frenzy repaint. I do like when the Casseticons (I guess they're Minicons now, huh?) get sized-up figures, like the alternaters cars and the generations tanks.

Edit: At least the FoC toy incarnations. The Ravage that came with Universe Hound is Minicon sized though.
