I know that...but I mean in terms of them being way bigger and priceier and yet far less complex and well-engineered than their smaller counterparts

I'm intrigued by this so called "light up fire breath" gimmick, and how they will pull it off.

Years ago (before they lost their originality and innovation and became strictly established license based) MegaBloks raised the bar for this kind of thing in their Dragons Fire and Ice line by having one of the dragon figures spew atomized water mist from its mouth which was backlit by a superbright yellow led. The effect was startlingly cool in that it really looked like hot plasma smoke spewing out. Ah, MegaBloks of old....

More than likely though, the Predaking gimmick will consist of nothing more than a poorly lit plume-shaped translucent "missile" that jams in between the jaws and drops out (rather than shooting out)when a button is pressed.

Glad to see that this version seems to have proper hands. The crappy rubbery claw thingees the Voyager sports are terrible and can't even hold the tail sword properly without it falling off.

Really looking forward to getting this guy in hand.
Its been a test of will walking by the Voyager edition each time i go to the store.
Now my patience seems to be vindicated and am waiting until this guy can be purchased.

Well, yes and no guys...Watch the trailer again. Predakings top mandible is set back creating an underbite of sorts... Whats missing are the "Predator-esque" side pieces that flare out.

Yawn, stand up to transform figures don't interest me. It must be fairly easy to create these four legged beast bots as they all transform in the same way, saves the company money in development.

The new Prime looks awful in alt mode, bot mode is ok though. Its a huge come down from the previous Prime figure.

I'm actually glad I got the Voyager version. This one's bigger, but I like the look of the Voyager better. I really don't like those big fat hinds legs. At $20, the Voyager's a better choice, IMO.

From watching the new eps, Predaking is huge, twice the size of Megatron huge. I might have to reconsider on this version.

After looking at the pictures of Predaking for a couple of days now he is becoming less of a let down. Those drangon back legs look like they dont have much movement but his robot mode looks alrit.

Lets just see if he has at least average articulation in robot mode and I might buy him. I really need a big bad beast guy to go against my beloved Air attack Optimus Primal cause my Unicron is to big for Primal to go against

And him being a big Dragon is a plus.

I find it ludicrous that this version of Predaking doesn't share the same brilliant transformation as the voyager class figure. I find myself torn when the decision initially appeared so easy.

Ultimate Optimus is once again not so "Ultimate" in my opinion. That presence of the fake belly moustache in vehicle mode doesn't even match the CGI model. Oversized. Cheap weapon gimmick. Stupid proportions. Sucky looking posability. Another swing 'n' a miss! I'll take the voyager, please.
