BotCon 2009: G1 Unicron on display!

Hasbro had the holy grail of the Transformers hobby on display for all to see in their massive Transformers display area this year. G1 Unicron was on display not just in robot mode, but also in planet mode as well which begs the question: "just how many of these things are there?" Anyway, I have seen many pictures of that toy but have never, ever seen a size comparison. Armada Unicron was much bigger than I thought he would be an this guy dwarfs him. Amazing.
I second that, if properly coloured (obviously). Would be great to have a toy I have wanted since 1986. Failing that, a proper G1 style Unicron would suffice.

Hasbro its time to release the beast. You didnt give it to us in the 80s so its time to give it to us. Theres still a universe line (supposedly) and there a more G1 reissues on the horizon so you have no excuse.

Wow, for the first time ever, a display of the unproduced G1 Unicron that actually gives us some idea of the proper scale of it, I am impressed.

It looks to be in remarkably good shape for a 23 year old prototype. Its definitely been cared for. Scary thing is, I would so plunk down the cash for a reissue of it. Any molds or such are probably long gone??

If there is a Hasbro Q&A session, they should tell them to pull that sucker out and pull out a Fortress Maximus to show sizes. I too think Hasbro has something up their sleeve. I wouldn't be surprised if those were just made for Botcon and that they might make an announcement of releasing him just for a G1 celebration or something. I would pay $100 for it

no offense to anyone but I think i'll pass. the figure is not cartoon accurate and it's very bulky (no pun intended). but at least it's finally released.

No, man..it's NOT released...This is just a prototype they've had for over 20 years...They show it off at conventions every so often but it's never been put into production...
I have to say though, I had NO idea it was that big...I would have LOVED it is as a kid even though it looks stupid (a lot of TFs back then did and we didn't care)...Hell, I'd buy it now just to have...
