It's Heatwave that fails some...the NM head is too large by just a bit and as such, the backpack won't close properly.

I haven't picked up Barricade, so I dunno what that's like, but I agree about the backpack not closing right.

I got two of Heatwave, one for Nexus Maximus and one for just being Heatwave.

At least yours didn't break when you went combiner...

Mine did. Snapped the surface the new head is attached to clean off the hinge. It goes back, but will never stay 'on' again. Damn plastic.

is a lot of force placed on that part?

Not particularly no. I have old G1 pieces with GPS that I have put more pressure on and they are still in tact.

I guess I'll buy another one from the freakin' club...I see they have him in the store.

I got mine about a week and a half ago. I actually like the new gesalt head mold. And I appreciate the fact that the club did make a point of using 5 different gesalt pieces to do this combiner. And the arrangement of how I did the limbs makes the gesalt very stable standing up and gives him at least one real looking hand. I accidentally let my membership run out. But I will be renewing it soon so I can enjoy the club magazine/comic, get the Classics Punch/Counterpunch that is planned as the next free club figure and for the lower price on next year's Botcon set provided I like it.

I'm pretty sure they mentioned that the next club figure would be Punch/Counterpunch. I'm sure they're already scheming on their next free set of figs.

Indeed, looking thru the various messages from Botcon, Punch/CP will be a special for club members to buy, as it seems they purposely did not mention what the 2010 freebie will be.

I'm still hoping for Shattered Glass Earth Soundwave.

What are you having trouble with?

Overall he's pretty simple.
Perhaps the chest/truck cab is the only troublesome bit.

Just nipped down to the kitchen to double check the box and it had slipped behind one of the side flaps. Luckily it was a garden waste collection rather than recycling/residual waste this week.

It really should have been in the bag with him. I was lucky enough that mine stuck to the tape that was used to seal the box, basically pinning it against the side.

So I finally assembled this guy with the planes as arms and tank and copter as legs. I dig it. I wish the purple was more like a vibrant blue but all in all, he looks nice. The yellow eyes are a touch out of place though...
