Post-movie toy decisions
Post-movie toy decisions

Okay, so now that I've seen the movie, my opinion has changed has certain potential purchases.
Sideways: I thought this guy might have some meat to him, if only 'cos of the cool name. But, what, 16 seconds before being cut in half?
Wheelie: Less annoying than I feared. I'm more tempted to buy him than I was before, despite the leg humping.
The Twins: Same as above.
Jetfire: I was one of the supporters of him before, but now I MUST have him. Grumpy, nutty Bill Nighy-type old man? Done.
Soundwave: I'm less excited than before about this guy. Like, he sits in space humping satellites and being a voyeur. Not too exciting, Soundy.
Ravage: Awesome. I don't think I was going to buy him before, but he's great in the movie. Love him.
Optimus: I'm not the world's biggest Optimus fan, despite all the people raving about the new toy. But the awesome moment in the woods protecting Sam? Yes. Must have. Plus, if I'm getting Jetfire I should get him too.

Have you seen the movie yet?
Jetfire and Ravage are both awesome in the movie (one for action, one for character). But Optimus, Sideswipe, Devastator, Bumblebee and the twins all get moments of incredible awesomeness.

Though this isn't really the place to discuss it (so I'll keep it brief) it's far superior to the first film. All the bad things from the first movie (random toilet humour, annoying side characters, Miss Fox's acting, endless explosion sequences, endless painful romantic dialogue, endless LeBeef wackiness) are still there, but they bookend a comparitively solid movie.
It's like X-men 2; they already introduce the characters so they can just get straight into the meat of the story.

and the death of prime scene although made me feel for him i remembered the toy combined with jetfire so i was like damn, i know that toy exists so it basically ruined a major part of the film for me
the movie overall is just a massive toy and car Advert with bay-splosions, with quite a bit of potty mouth
reli want the tak version of sideswipe (preferable the red one too) like him pre-movie
and human allience bumbles looks great now after seeing the movie, didnt feel i needed another bee before the movie (want him post-movie)
tbh i could buy the whole cast if i wanted to but at the moment i'm focusing on a updated G1 cast and finishing off my G2 collection
i also know that if i wait at least another 1/2 year, people will be selling most of there movie collections at a lower than retail price, so i will know if its the movie buzz that makes me want to buy the figs or my true appretiation of the figure/character
at least this way i will be avoiding massive buyers remorse, because lets face it none of these figures will be super rare down the line, unless they have a super limited release like the wooden boxed Rotf prime, apart from the box and the dog tag it was pretty much the same
