TFW2005 member - hailwind-O posted an new image of ROTF Prime toy. The difference is mouth piece of prime can open, and the 2 fuel tanks of prime will turn into hand guns.

That's the Leader Class!! and it looks official, anyone translated it from Japanese into English yet??

I really hope this gets a US release. I like it, but I don't think I'll have the money to import.

The title: "Equipped with New Mechalive Technology , Light and sound gimmicks"

The main caption accross the image at the middle: "This toy image may differs from the actual release"

The wording describing the prime head: "open face"

and lastly the fuel tanks caption: "transformed and combine".
So two fuel tanks make into one hand gun.

So thats the translation

thanks man, that is so awesome!! I hope they have this guy coming soon and are doing it as a Japanese Henkei like version..with premium paint apps and chrome.. still if not, I'd buy him.. I can't tell if his face can be covered with the battle mask or if it is just open the whole time, which would kinda suck..

I'd like to have the option to close it for battle or open for peace time conversations..

just found out, he's called Buster Optimus Prime and is a Takara Tomy release! Premium paints are highly possible.. not sure about the chrome...!!! OMFG!!!

You have got to be kidding me!!!

Why didn't they do this from the start?!! I don't want to have to pay for the same figure all over again if the only differences are a new face and new weapons! This is just not fair!

If they were smart, they should've gotten this right the first time so they wouldn't have to do rerelease the same figure with minimal changes only a few months after the first version that looks almost exactly the same as this updated version.

it's apparently only a Takara Tomy release as of yet..kinda like a Henkei Prime, so don't blame Hasbro.. but they might import it as a premium line fig.. if not then that just means more money, because no doubt they'll premium paint their own mold, and this Takara Tomy will be exclusive to japan..

So we are just going to be Spreading the wealth around to 2 continents.. as usual..

I'm old school, so I prefer my Prime with a face mask.

However, it's offputting to see better quality figures being released elsewhere. This is Premium all over again. I'm gonna stick to the plan and just buy regular leader Prime, and possibly the inevetable repolabel upgrade stickers.

well this is nice and all, and I can now see after extensive searching that prime does indeed have his back tanks removed in gun mode in robot form..

so this Takara Tomy release is very accurate.

I just hope they make it so the head is interchangeable with one that has the battle mask, or has a detachable battle mask.. because though the face prime is cool, i still prefer him with his mask on..

dude I am there with ya... but I found out on this site, that his face plate is attached and is able to slide up over his mouth.. I guess it says it somewhere in the Japanese language in the image..

I havent bought the regular one , If the new one face is change-able from normal to battle mode and STILL have the twin blade and A gun .. Might buy this one

Figures.. I just ordered him on amazon.. I got him on a gold box deal, a gift card and free shipping and it only cost me 30 bucks.. I'll still get this one too.. I use the one I got on amazon as a project

I normally wouldn't buy into a figure set up like this, I'd just stick with the original and tweak it as much as possible to make it work.

However, if his faceplate can actually move up and down, and the tanks become his guns, then I'm going to break my rules (again) and buy this guy.

This truly would make him a Masterpiece, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. That's just absolutely insane (in a good way) that they'd be able to make that work.

I'd love for Hasbro to bring that here as a Premium (which I doubt they will), but if not, I'll pony up the dough for the new one. Which means I'll sell my current one at a very discounted rate. (I'll beat retail prices, for sure.)

You know...after looking at these pictures, you have to wonder if these two features were supposed to be there from the get go, they look so seamless.
