Pawtucket, R.I.- In a press release issued today by Hasbro, Inc. (HAS NYSE), the person who's been appointed lead in the HASBRO/ Discovery Communications Joint Venture Television Network has been announced.

Margaret Loesche, who has been working in children's entertainment for over 30 years, will be assuming the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the companies’ multi-platform, yet to be named, joint venture.

An excerpt from the official release:

The winner of multiple Emmy and other industry awards, Loesch has almost four decades of unparalleled success in children’s and family entertainment. Her extensive resume includes the development and production of some of the most iconic programs in children’s television, such as Smurfs, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies, Animaniacs, Transformers and the award-winning pre-school educational series Bear in the Big Blue House, among many others.

As a chief executive, Loesch’s experience includes the launch and international expansion of Fox Kids Network, the creation of the U.S. Hallmark Channel, leadership of Marvel Comics’ film production arm, Marvel Productions, and, most recently, the co-founding of family media company, The Hatchery. She also serves on the board of trustees of Sesame Workshop, producers of educational children’s programs, including Sesame Street, and is on the advisory board of the Coalition for Quality Children’s Media.

“Margaret is the perfect match for the network that Hasbro and Discovery are developing,” said Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s President and CEO. “Her consistent track record of creating groundbreaking children’s programming and successfully launching new networks is a blueprint for what we want this joint venture to be. Hopefully this will lead to a new channel that will have, among other things, TF cartoons from past and present playing on it regularly, not just random as some others. G1/G2, BW, BM, RID, A/E/C, Animated. Hell, just play the old toy commercials and I will be happy!

So, she was in part responsible of the G1 cartoon.
That means... Universe cartoon?!!
Or better yet, Transformers and GI Joe meet for the first time!

Yeah Fox Kids was really good until Disney decided to buy it (along with Robots in Disguise), at least Fox Kids survives to this day with the name of Disney XD until they decide to call it Disney LOL or something.

Yeah Fox Kids was really good until Disney decided to buy it (along with Robots in Disguise), at least Fox Kids survives to this day with the name of Disney XD until they decide to call it Disney LOL or something.

Disney didn't by it. They only bought Saban. It was 4Kids Entertainment that took Fox Kids itself, replacing it with the FoxBox and then 4Kids TV.

The way I see it, 4Kids tried to kill it, but Disney's kept it alive (barely though, but still). 4Kids did manage to destroy Kids WB, though (with The CW4Kids).
