Last Night, I was in FYE and I saw Shout Factories Transformers season 2 vol 1, over a week before it was set to be released (9/15/09)So I picked it up.
Now the website still has it listed as the 15th (
http://www.shoutfactorystore.com/prod.aspx?pfid=5257036 ), so I got to know is this a mistake? Did anyone eles snag this DVD? Or is this a shipping error in my favor?

It's out early. The release date is still supposed to be September 15th. A Toys R Us near me had Season 1 out early, till I told them about the release date and they took it off the shelves.

When stores put movies out early, they're susceptible to being fined; does that hold true to stuff like this?

Unless the company finds out themselves or someone reports them, how else would they know the stores put something out early?

If someone buys something it's recorded when it's rung up at the cash register. That's how companies keep track of how many copies of movies and CDs are sold. If they see that something got rung up before it was allowed to be, they know. I am guessing.

Season 2 is 48 episodes long. If they were to release it together, it'd cost a hell of a lot more than the under $30 it's being sold for currently.
