It's 4,200 Yen, but at that quantity expect it to be through the roof on the secondary market..

i'm also kind of tired of every prime being repainted into nemesis, but that one looks amazing! for me it's right up there with my favorite, the big convoy universe nemesis prime.

I'm not really a fan of black repaints, but he looks pretty cool. I find it interesting that he has a normal red Autobot symbol instead of a Decepticon symbol or a Shattered Glass Autobot symbol.

But he's not a decepticon or an evil autobot. He's just a powered up Convoy. Like the alternity one, or the masterpiece(i think wonderfest black convoys were autobot versions as well.)

And he's only going for $180 right now....this may be the version of this mold that I finally cave on.

Why is this figure called "Black Convoy" if the main figure is still called "Optimus Prime" in Japan?

We do not know if this is a powered up version of him or not. All we know is that this is Optimus wearing black.

Neither the Alternity nor the Masterpiece Black Convoys were Optimus powered up. Alternity Black Convoy was Universe (2003) Nemesis Prime after having gained redemption and became an Autobot. Masterpiece Black Convoy represents a mass-produced (non-evil) clone of Optimus called an "Eldedroid", one of which is being operated by a grown up Daniel Witwicky.

The only Optimus black redeco that represents him powered up is Hybrid Style Black Convoy (Nucleon Quest Super Convoy isn't a powered up Prime, it's just him wearing a protective black coating).

Looks great! I'd really like to add this to my black Convoy/Prime/Primal collection. I'm not sure I $180 want it though. This might be one to get later when funds are much more abundant. As it is, I've got multiple pre-orders out and this would bite me.

I didn't see anywhere that the 300 unit run was expanded. Did I miss that somewhere?

Anywho, I'm gonna be in deep $#!+ with the finance committee (wife) on this one.

The museum was selling 300 pieces. There's another event coming up (I think we edited an existing story to include it) that seems to indicate at least another 1000 pieces.

Right now, after taking about on DW & SS, I'm going to wait and see if RK gets a hold of this figure.
