Just in case you haven't heard Hasbro announced at NYCC earlier this year that 2012 would bring a new line known as "Movie Trilogy", and one of the figures that would be featured in that line would be the Deluxe DOTM Optimus Prime mold paired up the Chronicle Optimus Prime set's trailer. TFW2005's Soundwavedotm has shared some images of the set, which have been mirrored below.

Does Optimus himself look any different from the Wal-Mart toy?

And, I thought "Movie Trilogy" was gonna be the subline imprint of DOTM, like how Movie 1 had "AllSpark Power" and "Premium Series", and how ROTF had "N.E.S.T. Global Alliance". Or at least something like how Prime has both "First Edition" and "Robots in Disguise" toylines.

I think it's just his gray plastic, it's definitely darker than before, sorta Striker Prime-esque.

Well that's pretty cool. Still not the greatest mold, but it's a nice version of it.

did i read that right does that say additional paint? my god hasbro used paint on a figure its a miracle, well if its true for all we know this is the master and not the retail version. no word on price i take it, if its around $20 id think about getting it but itll be more around $40 and then i wont care anymore. Better than butterfly prime.

It's not like there's anything that special about the trailer. I mean, it doesn't combine with Optimus or have any weapons or anything. It's just a plastic box... one we all want, but a plastic box nonetheless.

Indeed, but a box that makes it complicated to place prime in a size class. With the trailer, he's too big to be a voyager. He'd need to be his own thing, like that G1 re-issue prime from a few years back, only since it's dotm, he'll shelf-warm like nobody's buisness.

No. it's scaled for the Deluxe size.

But, Takara did make another trailer before this one that was indeed scaled to fit the Voyager class size, but it remains a Japanese exclusive since this Deluxe trailer is the only Takara trailer that Hasbro has made thus far.

No. it's scaled for the Deluxe size.

I bought the Walmart exclusive Prime to go with the Voyager Megatron (they're in scale in vehicle mode) so if this fits that figure I will most likely get it.

Now, do to my obligatory a**hole whining, I really hope this "Movie Trilogy" line will include at least a DotM Leader Class Megatron.

Thus far, the only "Movie Trilogy" toys we know of are another redeco of DOTM Deluxe Bumblebee, a G1-inspired redeco of Deluxe Wheeljack (w/ new head mold), a G1-inspired redeco of DOTM Deluxe Ratchet, a Soundblaster-inspired redeco of DOTM Deluxe Soundwave, and this Optimus w/ Trailer toy.
