Posted over at the Takara/Tomy website is a few looks at the newest version of Classics Hot Rod, G2 Hero Megatron, Thunderwing, Warpath and Wincharger/Wipeout. The United iteration looks to be the Rodimus Prime in regards to colors and detail. While Megatron has the color palette we have come to expect from G2. There are some images mirrored below and head over to Takara/Tomy's website to view them all.

He is supposed to be Rodimus Prime (note the chest deco), but it seems he shares Classics Magnus bad luck with not having a trailer...

I'm a bit worried about the state of the Rodimus to be honest, especially after RtS Rodimus. Even though the Blue Clear version is pretty tight (must be the rigid plastic), what's the state of the Henkei Hot Rodimus reissue?

I want both United and Henkei now...

Also, Warpath, Thunder Megatron, Thunderwing and Windcharger & Wipe-Out are up.

Edit: Also the color scheme is based on Rodimus Prime's toy and cartoon appearance. The flames are based on the toy and everything else on the cartoon. It's not based on Hot Rod's appearance like the article says.

Exactly what I thought when I looked at it, those side flames are very nearly identical to the ones on the sides of Roddy's Winnebago trailer.

Also, I note a remolding to the engine block to add what looks like a weapon peg... could this Rodimus be getting an attachment?... Maybe a targetmaster?

Your eyes are off. No remolding is done, it's more visible in vehicle mode.

Actually, after comparing it to the two versions of the Classics Rodimus mold in front of me, there is an extra raised part on the engine block, with slightly rounded edges.


Here is a comparison with RTS Battle in Space Rodimus, the most recent use of the mold before this new United version. I've highlighted the discrepancies for better visibility.
In each shot, if you look at the overall shape of the engine, I've highlighted the flat part in the middle, on the united version there is an extra piece on top of that.

Your eyes are off. No remolding is done, it's more visible in vehicle mode.

i love the superior color scheme on the united rodimus mold. I just think it's wrong to call this toy rodimus convoy.

I would love to see takara/Hasbro create a new 100% leader sized rodimus prime toy mold. that stand 9.5 inches tall in robot mode. i kinda want it to look like the titanium 6 inch rodimus prime toy. only for it to be 9.5 inche tall in robot mode. perhaps hasbro can increase that titanium 6 inch rodimus prime toy to a leader sized toy.

REGARDING UNITED MEGATRON,I like these colors better than the first release green colors. the newer united colors are more beautiful on the mold & make the toy look like 1994 "hero megatron".

Hot Rod looks great, Megatron looks turrible, and Wipeout/Windcharger has that fugly unpainted white. It kind of looks like unpaintable plastic. THAT'S NO EXCUSE.

The bold part spells out "Rodimus Convoy". Upon closer examination, it's more of a sales pitch I'll have to translate this, my curiosity is piqued.

"Merchandising 'Rodimus Convoy' the Autobot Supreme Commander. Reproducing (the commodity of) the unique Fire Emblem. Transforming from "feature car" to robot, the muffler part becomes the blaster with firing missile"

ok this is the one time ill accept the name Rodimus for a Hot Rod figure cause its clearly painted like Rodimus Prime. Normally this is where i say i hope habro brings these over but i dont feel like paying $13-$16 for molds i already have so japan can keep them, even though i really want that Rodimus.

Wipeout looks pretty cool, though I would have preferred a Tailgate repaint/remold. Ah well...$50 is too much to pay for essentially one Scout figure, since I already have Windcharger.

Well i must say i realy like that rodimus colour scheem and is imo the best mainly because i only have RTS this just screems buy me i love it.

Yes,i'm fully aware of the Takara MP-09 Rodimus convoy,as I own two of this mold. I also own one of the Hasbro TRU Rodimus Prime.

While I think the MP-09 Rodimus Convoy was a decent toy. I'm always looking to push the envelope & dream of better versions. I kinda want to ALSO see a Transformers 1986 movie/season 3 Rodimus Prime leader sized toy design. where the entire truck cab+trailer transformed into the rodimus prime robot mode. without the trailer detaching & being a seperate piece. I like the titanium 6 inch rodimus prime design but wish it could get increased to a 9.5 inch leader sized robot mode.

I am happy that everybody gets another chance at getting a Rodimus that matches the Protector colors. But after the recent re-issue of Henkei Rodimus, was this repaint really necessary. Maybe the yellow tailfin does look more G1 than the gold plating on the Henkei, but they screwed it up by painting the middle red in car mode. Also most people are using Protector as their "Rodimus Prime" so the Rodimus deco is pointless unless you display protector in trailer mode. I would rather have gotten a cartoon accurate hot rod scheme like the RTS but in Protector red.
