But I do agree, they look a lot better.

I'm not planning on getting the Takara versions, with the better pain job and higher price they are just to "collectory" for me. I like my TF toys as toys so I'm sticking with the cheaper Hasbro ones that I can actually find in stores.

I dislike the new SS mold, but this makes it a lot more tolerable.

The one good thin about my hobby store is that since they don't bring in Hasbro versions, I don't have to choose between either. As much as I want Shockwave, he's too tiny to make it into my neo-G1 shelf. And as a TFP figure, my collection is too incomplete to include him. I'll have to pass on most of them.

I might pick up Soundwave, just for for that little kitty from hell on his chest.

The larger-scaled Optimus was shown to be uber-size at Toy Fair. I wouldn't recommend it because it doesn't have the jetpack he now uses, and because of his size, he would be horribly out of scale with the Ultra Magnus Voyager and the Deluxes.



The American release of the Voyager (which has the green sword/windows) is alright. I would recommend it only if you can't afford to import the Takara version.

The Takara version is the winner here. The windows aren't that Jolly-Rancher green, the usual outstanding deco Takara is known for, the usual shebang. I would recommend the Takara version for maximum accuracy.

As it turns out, the more bluish Shockwave shown in the previous pics was a production sample, rather than the final.



This new, more purple version shown in these new pics is what the final will actually look like.

The blue one on the left is the sample we saw before, and the purple on the right is the final.



As a bonus, here's the Hasbro one (left) compared to the final Takara one (right).





Though, one thing that was cool about the previous pics was that blue Shockwave was in the famous "ARE ALL DEAD" pose:

TFYuki has tweeted some updated images of Takara Tomy's upcoming Transformers Go! Voyager Class Shockwave. These images reveal a more purple deco than the previously seen blueish production sample. Images mirrored below.

I wish they'd show it with the beast armour on though. It looks even better in grey than it did in orange.

I don't think he looks blue at all in that illustration but hey what the hell do I know. I think the Go Shockwave looks mind blowing over the Hasbro version. So if you want the ultimate you gotta pay the ultimate price...'nuff said!

All those Shockwave figures look nice to me. If I can't find one domestically by the time Botcon rolls around though, Takara gets my money. I've been a little more active in my hunt in the last couple weeks. No luck yet.
