About The Omega Force

[From the secret files of Autobot High Command]

The Omega Force was an idea born of the superior tactical ability demonstrated by Iron Blue. Blue, along with his closest comrades-in-arms, Thrash and Quickpunch, were picked off the front lines and originally formed a three-bot field unit with an exemplary service record. The Force made its name as a surgical strike unit: hostage rescue, data and equipment recovery, and critical resource liquidation make up the bulk of their early portfolio. It was not long before Iron Blue had been promoted beyond field command. He was ready to join the upper ranks of the Autobot military machine.

At the rank of Captain he requisitioned and was granted use of a bunker from the early days of the war, as well as the continued service of his loyal companions Thrash and Quickpunch. He first formed a new unit, unofficially designated the "Elementals" [see further: Fire Iron; Wind Racer, Ice Furnace; Ground Hog], to take over the field operations which had been the core of the Omega Force's missions. Blue then restructured the Force proper, truly making it his own command. No longer primarily concerned with official missions, the Omega Force carved out its own niche in the military organization. They now operated independent of one another, answerable only to Iron Blue himself, to insert themselves in key situations based on his instinct, or standing intervention orders.

For cycles, Iron Blue had been petitioning that Cord, a former war-buddy who wasn't called up with Thrash and Quickpunch, be given a field promotion and leave to command his own unit, mirroring Iron Blue's own beginnings. Now a Captain, Blue had extreme leeway in making personnel decisions. Cord was the first of the new additions to the Force (which had by this time long incorporated the "Elementals.") Shortly thereafter followed Night, whose true nature is a matter classified beyond the purview of even this docket.
