The Idle Hands Blog brings us news of Transformers: The Covenant of Primus, a hardcover book from becker & mayer exploring the history of the Transformers civilization. Written by Justina Robson with 60 never seen before illustrations, some from the Hasbro archives and some newly commissioned pieces. The book comes in a special wall mountable Autobot symbol case that features three "transforming" sound effects that are activated as the interlocking pieces are separated to reveal a newly commissioned cover by our friend Ken Christiansen.

Matt Ferguson dropped us an email to let us know of a new limited edition Megatron print that he has for sale. This print is $40.00 and is limited to 50 pieces. You can also check out the art he has done for the Avengers Assembled Box Set for Marvel Studios and hints that he has big plans for Transformers art. You can order the Megatron print here.
lmb3.net has gotten a hold of an obscure piece of Transformers history, a 1986 Transformers The Movie Ziploc Promotion Salesman’s Sample Kit. The kit would have been given to retail clients by salesmen to encourage additional sales. The kit, which was packaged in a Transformers branded backpack, contained iron-on patches, a Powerdasher figure, thermos, coupons, promotional materials, and some really interesting financial stats from Hasbro regarding the Transformers brand. At that time the Transformers held the record for first year toy introduction at $100 million in 1984. They expected the brand to rake in around $300 million in 1986. Acidfree Gallery have unveiled two additional prints that will be available at Wizard World Philadelphia. The first is Starscream by Jesse Philips, similar is style his Megatron that was released earlier this year. The second is the five Dinobots by Kevin Tong.

The team bringing us the amazingly detailed Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Megatron Polystone statue, Prime 1 Studios, has teased their next project, MMTFM-02. Based on the prototype shield image mirrored below from their facebook page, it appears that they will be taking on Transformers: Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime. If their Megatron is any indication this will be an impressive and expensive piece.
