'Bulkhead' (how do we even know that's his name) looks alot like Crumplezone...
Who's the motorbike? He looks kinda cool...
Posted by Windracer on June 25th, 2007 @ 1:13pm EDT
I'm assuming the black and gold Bike is Prowl, and the big green dude taking up half the poster is Bulkhead. Interesting...

My failure sense is tingling. First the movie and now this... there's no stopping them!

Looks like they're keeping the formula from th e new film
Prowl strangely resembles a jazz-like character and bulk head resmembles an Ironhide-like character.
I don't like the desings, too childish imo, but i'll give it a chance
I still wonder how the toys are gonna work

There's no reason for anyone to complain about the movie anymore.

Are these robots, or superheroes in robot suits...
I can't help but think this show is going to be aimed at the preschool generation. I mean, look at this stuff...
Also, I wonder how long it'll take to rename Bulkhead into Hound?

I'm not impressed and they really could have done better.
Wish they would just sell and market to two demographics, one for younger kids which would love this and then the teen group and have a bit more depth and edge without taking too much artistic lisence and just slapping established characters on radical new designs. If your going to make a new design we've never seen before make it a bot we've never seen before.

”We are thrilled to be working with the highly creative team at Cartoon Network on bringing the next chapter in the TRANSFORMERS saga to kids and fans around the world,” said Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s Chief Operating Officer. “The animation style that Cartoon Network has developed really brings the lore and characters of the TRANSFORMERS franchise alive in a way that has never been seen through animation.”
“TRANSFORMERS is a tried and true draw for our core audience,” said Bob Higgins, senior vice president programming and development, Cartoon Network. “Kids love the surprise of 'More Than Meets the Eye,' combined with dynamic, clearly defined characters and epic storylines. We are thrilled to be working with Hasbro to help re-imagine this amazing franchise for a new generation of fans.”
Set on Earth in the near future in Detroit, the alien TRANSFORMERS are thrust into a world populated by humans and automatons. As visitors to Earth, the TRANSFORMERS--OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, PROWL, BULKHEAD and RATCHET--work in the human world, interacting with the ‘natives’ in exciting and humorous ways. TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED has been created to showcase the heroic AUTOBOTS working together to battle the evil DECEPTICONS and save Earth with kid-relatable plot lines filled with humor, distinctive character personalities, and dynamic action.

No it doesn't. That looks worlds better than the first picture we saw.
This could end up as an alright series for sure.
Granted that first promo pic was bad.
This? Not so much. Like anything else we'll have to wait and see.
Since that won't happen...I'm going to stand aside, shut up, and let the overall bitch-fest commence.

I loved those series, too, and Teen Titans. I'm expecting good things to come from this series. It is VERY stylized, but that could be good. It will be a nice contrast with the ultra-real movie versions. With quality animation, it will most likely be the story lines that make or break this series.

But don't worry, protomotional art from the Teen Titans guys is usually pretty $%@#ed up these days.

Hell, even the Bay designs had some good points to them.
I'll say this: Bumblebee and the vehicle modes are adorable. Simply "OMG" gotta cuddle 'em all adorable.
Beyond that:
Prime *STILL* sucks, and now he's even worse...a fire truck, AGAIN?!
Bulkhead is...yeah, I can't even comment. (It would shatter my brain coming up with his sucktitude.)
Ratchet looks like an even toonier A/E/C hybrid.
Not sure who the motorcycle guy is, but he has potential, in both vehicle and robot modes.
I too agree that the toys will be better than animation models, but the show will reek (visually, can't speak for the storyline. Although Prime being young and climbing the ranks, plus each episode is a one shot...) but perhaps, we'll get lucky and they'll make excellent toys. (Although not much can top the movie guys)

These would look awesome as toys, though. Assuming they don't spin to transform, etc.

Why are they determined to make tfs look like crap? It looks like Teen Titans, right down to the logo. But machines shouldn't looke like that, especially if they can transform...
Such crap unknown. We basically get Cybertron Prime, Classics Bumblebee, Cybertron Ransack and two colourful lumps.
Why not just recolour them and remold them slightly, and make em into Defensor?
