Neil Harden, marketing director for XtremeMac, did not want to say which figures will be used in the cross promotion, but he did have the following to say in the article;
"We are excited that we will link our Xtreme iPhone hardcase with Transformers 2. Eventhough Transformers 2 won't be in theaters until june 2009, it's never to early to start the hype. We expect these to be sold out in a matter of hours. These [Transformers-fans] are completely predictable. That's why Paramount is making the sequel".
Update:
It would appear that the claims made iPhoneclub.nl have been proven to be false. The site has updated the page stating that they have been the victom of a hoax.
"Our apologies, but this message, from iPhonesavior is a fake and made up by them meant to be a satire. After some research it appears that XstreamMac doesn't exist (a variant on the name of the well known XtremeMac) and we can find no record of the aforementioned Director of Marketing, Neil Harden. We've simply been had. :( "

The return of Product Placement Bots!
Hopefully transformer fans will read this and be pissed off and being called 'predictable,' and boycott Mac and their crap.
By crap I don't mean their products are terrible. Just anyone who would spend $500+ for a transformer toy, should die, in a fire.

So... You're gonna wait in line when they are in stock?Senor Hugo wrote:By crap I don't mean their products are terrible. Just anyone who would spend $500+ for a transformer toy, should die, in a fire.

....maybe
I just think $500+ could be better spent elsewhere, to buy an iphone just to get an exclusive TF movie figure, is ridiculous. You could get a complete Fort Max for the same price, and it'd be more worthwhile.
Of course if you actually can use an iPhone, and not just to look cool, go for the iPhone/figure pack.
But, yeah $500 could be better spent than on a phone with a movie figure that'll cost you $20 otherwise.
This would be one of those figures I'd hope Ryan stays away from buying, unless someone who gets the figure sends him in photographs, but I'd rather see a bunch of new galleries of figures versus one iPhone exclusive figure.

it's not the actual Mac company, brohams, its a Mac accessory company, so they'll be promoting with a hardcover FOR iPhone, not an actual hardcover iPhone (arent they hard already?). My point being, it'll (IT being the hardcover case) probably only come out to about $40-60, not $500. Anyways, weren't ppl buying cars in Asia to get a free Transformer not too long ago?
And I'm not jumping down your throat, I just think its funny how the above sentences in red completely contradict eachother, heh

Well, there is a difference. Spending $500 for a vintage figure = not so bad. Spending $500 for a new figure = Retarded

This is one TF I won't be buying! The iPhone (and Apple) suck. The only thing the company excels in is their marketing tactics (heck, just place an "i" in front of anything - very creative).

SPaceballs the breakfast cereal!
Spaceballs the flame thrower....

Anyone see any similarities?
(Betcha didn't see THAT one coming....)

well since it doesn't involve anyone spending $500 on an iPhone, but solely on an accessory that shouldn't cost more than $50, I'm all in assuming that its a good figure.

So it's a hard case that will transform?
I'm thinking of getting an iPhone later on, so that's interesting to me. I just wonder how ungainly/bulky/wiggly the thing will actually be, or rapidly become. I'd be buying an iPhone for the conviniance, not wanting to negate that with chunky snap on stuff.

I guess the iPhoneclub.nl learned a lesson in news posting. Always check your item when you can and ALWAYS mention your source.Raymond T. wrote:Dutch mobile phones site iPhoneclub.nl has placed an article on their website, claiming that iPod Company XtremeMac has signed a deal to cross promote their hardcase edition of the iPhone 2.0 product with an action figure from the Transformers 2 movie, set to be released in June 2009.
Neil Harden, marketing director for XtremeMac, did not want to say which figures will be used in the cross promotion, but he did have the following to say in the article;

We've simply been had."

Why on earth would someone need to waste their time making up phony companies and stories about products, is it just to make a dig at apple ?
