There is no word yet on what role Tudyk will have. Tudyk is known among science fiction fans for playing "Wash" in "Firefly" and "Serenity", along with roles in "V", "Dollhouse", "Knocked Up", "Dodgeball" and many more.

Crap! I was perfectly comfortable with staying as far away from this movie as possible. This is the first bit of news that might actually get me to reconsider. I've been a fan since A Knight's Tale. Crap!

Live-action Transformers film in casting an actual actor SHOCK!
Tudyk is pretty much amazing in anything I've seen him in, so I have to wonder if he'll be cut completely from the film, or just used to a percentage (yes a single 1%) of his ability like Turturro?

Tudyk? I'm impressed. The man is talented.
With Tudyk, Malkovich, McDormand, and Dempsey being cast, I'd say they at least have high hopes of it being a higher caliber film, with some class.
I know they're cashing paychecks, yes, but some if not all of these actors are the type who do it for the art, or at least did, so I'm sure they have some faith in the film, or they wouldn't have signed on.

Awesome! Hope he gets a decent role. Absolutely loved him in Firefly and Dollhouse.

Yeah, I've always been a fan of Tudyk. Hopefully the role he gets stuck in doesn't suck.

I'm so f'in' excited for this! But, I have to admit, no matter what who he is, and what role he has, nothing can compare to his Shipwreck.

Never was able to picture him as a villain until he showed up on the new V [which he was the only highlight of until last night's finale]

Liked Dodgeball (A guy who thinks he's a pirate has my vote) and the link to the Whendon verse is good enough for me.

It really doesn't matter who ends up in this movie if the writers don't do a good job. If the writing is good, even ole Shia could pull off a good performance. We'll see what happens when it is released. For better or worse, I will be there to watch it.
