Colour Images of Action Toys New Machine Robo figures aka GOBOTS

It has been a while since we first heard of the new Machine Robo toys from Action Toys. The fun thing is that we know them as GoBots here in North America, which is a brand that used to compete with Transformers but is now part of Hasbro (though the original toys and their designs belong to Bandai). Yesterday, a new Facebook page came up with these finally giving us some stock photos of these toys. These are fully licensed from Bandai and made by Action Toys. It is still unknown when they will be released, how to get them or the prices. Howeer, these colour images are a sign that these are still happening and will be released sooner rather than later.

These are well cool; absolute 80s cheese. Does anyone know if they scale with modern CHUG transformers figures well? Like, are they deluxe or voyager or are they more akin to Masterpiece-style toys?
If they make a Pathfinder I'm sold. I dunno why I like Pathfinder. I just kind of do.

"Rod Drill" sounds more like a porn star than a GoBot.

Because the toys are owned by Bandai (One of Takara's biggest competitors) I don't know if they can work a deal, even though Hasbro owns the Go-Bots rights in North America. It would be cool if they could...

I'd love to see the rest of the Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos anime, after only 3 DVD's containing 15 episodes were released by Central Park Media.

It is really a cool anime. Its just crazy to me to think that in France RoC was dubbed as an official "sequel" to the Go-Bots

But oddly enough, I can see some Go-Bots influence. Bike Robo & Eagle Robo (Cy-Kill and Leader-1), had minimal screen time and influence in the anime series. Rod Drill & Blue Jet (Fitor) *not pictured* were Rom's closest associates at least in the early episodes.

I am pretty sure there is no talk of a deal. This is really its own thing and will not be associated in any way with hasbro. These will have to be imported just like any other asia exclusive toy, the only question is from where.

How would any of us know? These are just getting revealed. How would anyone here know what scale they are?

Aw, yeah! You know, I was remembering this just yesterday and was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen. But there they are!

Now, I gotta be honest. I was never into GoBots at all. I saw them as low rent Transformers. But I did get Leader-1 and CyKill and have a lot of pleasant memories playing with those guys as if they were proper TFs. I am stoked that new toys, based on the old toys (as opposed to the cartoon) are coming out!

Let the prorders begin!!

Prior to combiner wars, I bought the Power Warriors for my son as I was able to find them cheap on eBay. However using the "chart" to find a good mix of Guardians & Renegades that fit each suit was a PITA. I ended up with Guardians: Leader-1, Turbo, Scooter, Pathfinder, and Spoons. Renegades: Cy-Kill, Crasher, Cop-Tur, Vitor, and Screwhead

One of the facebook posts confirms they're being released "this summer" and the price was previously listed in Yen that (at the time) was equivalent to $23 USD.

They've been said to be shorter than MP cars but not by much. So not quite MP sized and a little too big for chug (unless you like your gobots tall)

That said, I'm all in on these guys!

That would seem consistent with the Phillips head screws in the figures. If they were bigger than voyager-class those screws would be enormous.

If by "just" you mean over a year ago then yeah, they were "just" revealed. lol. It's been so long that most people forgot about or gave up on them.

Either way though, there's been very little information about these so I doubt anyone other than people who have actually seen them would know the size right now. Going by the way Transformers are constructed, I'd guess that with their use of ball jointed hips and mushroom peg thigh swivels, that they're around deluxe sized but they could just as easily be voyager sized as well.

There have also been a few prototype pictures that show that some will be different sizes too. There's a picture with Tough Trailer from Revenge of Chronos next to who we know as Loco and Loco looks tiny next to Tough Trailer. So I'm going to say that Loco would be the same "standard" size as Cykill and the rest and that Tough Trailer will be about ultra/weaponizer/new leader sized. Especially given the construction of his hip joints being detented disk hinges.

If these are cheap enough and easy enough to get I'll buy most, if not all, of them. They all look really good and some great articulation.

Again, its hard to say this early on, but the all-plastic reminds me of the Super Go-Bots (Machine Robo DX and Big Machine Robo). It would be kind of cool if they were to scale with these.

I was kind of wondering if some of the more popular ones would be released as part of the Soul of Chogokin line as GX-39 Baikanfu was nearly a decade ago. But since the SOC line is *seemingly* ending, at least for now, I guess these are the next best thing.

Because somewhere there might have been a scale, or other photos, or maybe someone can tell by the screw sizes or whatever. idk, there's a ton of possible ways to know without actually owning the toys

Welcome to page 8 of the discussion. ;)

Another point of reference is the hands. If those are 5mm peg holes then these really do seem to be in the range of "tall deluxe". If the price really is around US$23 after exchange then that does support the size.

I wonder if it's that simple. Hasbro already releases Bandai's Yo-Kai Watch toys over here and Action Toy's Ultimetal Optimus Prime is made under Hasbro's trademark so there is a three-way relationship there. Maybe Hasbro can't release these over here themselves, but Action Toys certainly seems to be appeasing Go-Bots fans with their selection so maybe they could work in between and use Bandai's likenesses and Hasbro's names?

Here's the full list of what they've shown so far, it's pretty substantial actually

MR-01 Bike Robo (Cy-Kill)
MR-02 Battle Robo (Tank)
MR-03 Jet Robo (Fitor)
MR-07 Supercar Robo (Turbo)
MR-14 Shuttle Robo (Spay-C)
MR-17 Drill Robo (Screwhead)
MR-25 Eagle Robo (Leader-1)
MR-36 Mixer Robo (Block Head)
MR-45 Blackbird Robo (Snoop)

I definitely want the more prominent Go-Bots characters, but I really hope there'll be face variants, at least for Cy-Kill.

Wow, if they turn out to be $30 or lower, I'll be getting a whole mess of them!

Deluxe to Voyager size is good for me, and if they're around $25 or so U.S price, then I'm definitely in for two of each.

She reminds me a bit of the cylon fighter ships on the original Battlestar Galactica, that's certainly a point in her favor.

I'm not a big GoBots guy, though I have some random ones from the 80s (and Puzzler!), but I'd love to pick some of these up for random/generic bots on my Transformers shelves. Glad they're not dead in the water.
