I think it depends on who is cutting the parts out of the sprue at the time.
The fingers on mine seem fine, but do appear blunted. I thought it might be something to do with the actual design.

Actually that's exactly what I was going for when I snapped the picture! He did get his fingers chopped off after all.

Damn, not even a remold. Just lopped them phalanges right off (and not evenly either). Guess that's what happens when you're a robo-Predator knock-off via Michael Bay.

I would have been blissfully ignorant of this had I not seen the stock image more clearly. I didn't even pay attention to it until this thread.
Looked at my Crankcase and it seems like the fingers got lobbed off ad the 3rd knuckle.
Anyways, they may have done it since it's the middle finger. They don't want kids making this guy give Autobots the bird in the middle of battle.
This may be the one time I buy the Takara version if the fingers aren't lobbed off.

If they chopped of DOTM crankcase middle fnger for saftey reasons, Then why they didnt do it to ROTF leader Megatron because he too has a big middle finger.

And if they took the time to remold and reassemble all the figures, people would be complaining about the delay.
