This is gathered by messages sent to me by Hasbro proper since I needed replacements for both a deluxe and a leader figure. Below are the parts from two different messages ragarding this:
Regrettably, our Powermaster figure is currently unavailable and a product of equal value will be ordered from our warehouse.
This product (Titans Return Leader) is currently on back order and will ship to you as soon as inventory is replenished.
A replacement figure or a different figure of equal value will be sent but this line is on back order right now.
Since we know Wave 2 is out, that means the back order is for wave 3, which is not out or available yet. This is further proven by Power Master Prime being the Leader figure packages with Soundwave who, as you read, is unavailable from the manufacturer.
This would explain why several Amazon listings are marked as "discontinued from the manufacturer"
This is no cause for alarm but good news that the toyline is selling very well and probably better than anticipated. However, this does indicate that these first two waves will likely never be on clearance, nor show up at market six store, and will not be around for long. Amazon proper is already sold out of several of these toys. This seems to happen every time with new lines, but now we have some extra proof to back it up, so if you are tempted by any of these toys, get them before it is too late.
I short, this just means that Hasbro has no more figures on their end to deliver to stores (as they usually hope is the case). That means that stores like TRU bought a bunch of stock that they have yet to put on shelves. I am personally waiting till they do. All the info I have is what was posted in the article.
HTS, BBTS, TFSource, Amazon and the myriad of online retailers will probably not be able to restock though since they get their stock directly from Hasbro, who have no more to give.
Of course, this applies for Canada and the US, it is not certain if it is on backorder for other central Hasbro warehouses.
