Full Metal Hero has posted the first image of upcoming Takara Transformers Dark Side Moon DA-28 Leader Class Optimus Prime.

Prior to this, we have very few information on this figure. Although with the new image, there are still many questions need to be answered, such as colour scheme etc.
However, from this prototype we can confirm that Prime at least get a brand new weapon.

It also looks like there's something going on with his left arm as evidenced from the shoulder and the thing protruding from the bottom right of the obstructing square.

Am I right in thinking that's the same mold as Buster Prime? If it comes with Buster's kick-ass paint and chrome then I'm on board. I really want a decent movie Optimus and Buster Prime is far too expensive for me these days.

It is the Leader class mould but no confirmation on wether it's the shiny one or the Hasbro version.And chances are this one gonna be more expensive than Buster Prime due to the new weapon and another accesory I spot on the other hand(A shield maybe?).

On topic...Meh? I already have the ROTF Leader class mould and I dont need another one...Though the weapon look kick-ass and he seems to be holding something on the left hand...And just MAYBE it could be a shield just like in one of the trailer we've seen(I forgot which trailer >.<...Go see all of them and you will know what I'm saying). Let's just hope this one comes with a trailer cause that would be awesome :D.

PS : You can know it's the leader mould by looking at the feet,the backpack,the shoulder pad,how the wheel placed at the feet area and lastly that two stick thingie beside either side of his head.Just saying :D.

Could be just the CGI render or could be a re-sculpted head. Maybe it's the same as how the head changes on 2007 Leader Optimus and the Premium one.I cant wait to see what's actually on his left hand xP. And just maybe this one comes with the new abs just like the Jetwing version.

You guys don't find that pic strange though? Coz to me, that shield looks way too similar to Sentinel's. It might as well be the very same one.

true, and i find the fact that prime is actually holding his sword than wielding it while being fixed onto his forarm is a bit wierd too and a little less bad-ass. :-(

Looks like it still has the regular swords too. I might be interested in this, but I want to wait and see if Hasbro uses this as one their future Leaders releases.

Although I wonder, could this be the same mold as Jetwing, the Buster version, or just the regular version?

why does the ROTF leader mold only get guns in Japan? (this one is comically huge, though, so maybe I shouldn't be too upset.) odds are it will have the DOTM abs, which I'm still not sold on.

I'm still kind of upset that they did away with the "hands turn into weapons" trait that the movies made look really good (which was used in WfC and currently in TFPrime), just so they could hold their MechTech weapons in the movie :(

The only way they could get me to buy this mold again is if they removed the stupid electronic gimmick/battery compartment and compacted his rather large backpack. Doubt that will happen, so probably a pass.
