Maybe he works with the military now. And that insignia on his door could show that he does.

Yeah, the cannons on the truck bed is kinda odd. Robot mode looks virtually the same.

I don't like the headshot on the box - it looks out-of-place and just "tacked on" - it doesn't fit with the rest of the packaging.

I wish Ironhide would have got a new mold, but the old one was decent, so it's no big deal. Don't like the red on this one (especially since he doesn't have it in the movie) so I'll pass.

Maybe his colours will change a little in ROTF?

I was going to buy this just for the cannons but the right arm one looks rather oversized so maybe I'll pass. I should think the cannons can still be stowed in the same place as before to cover up the very obvious arms slung underneath...

I'm very happy that I don't feel at all inspired to buy this...

LOL this is just pathetic. I wish they could just sell us a weapon accessory/upgrade pack for the movie figures (or any tf line's figures) for a reasonable price. But nope, apparently they find this a better business strategy, and they are probably right.

So far, I have not seen a single new/unrecognizable mold from the leaked photos of tf2 rof figures other than the unimportant scout class figures. I would not expect anything really imaginative or drastically different for the toys of the characters that are returning from previous movie. I guess the toymakers could sort of use that as an excuse to say that since most of the characters that survived in the first movie did not have to be reformatted or resurrected, there's no need to make new molds for the toys neither!

Dude, did you see the deluxe Sideswipe and leader Prime from a few weeks ago those were all new molds, and they looked great.

Ironhide looks nice. I'm glad they gave him new cannons, But I will pass.

Da, and there's the alternatoresque Bumblebee as well.

Plus, I'm skeptical of Starscream being a remold. I think he may well be a new toy from ground up. Sure he's just as ugly, but he comes from the same source material.

And as far as accessory packs, that would be neat, as has been lamented for decades, but they have to re-release each character in some form for this movie for all the kids that couldn't afford to buy them all during the run of the last movie.

I don't know-if you're talking about the pictures of the ROTF SS posted today, it looks a heck of a lot like the other voyager mold to me with painted details and different head. I'm thinking that's going to be the same but there may be a leader somewhere in the pipeline.

No Caelus is right about it being a new mold. The chest is wider and has that new mech alive feature when you turn Starscream's head. Also it lacks the giant missile launching arms.

Also the Jet mode actually looks like a F-22 compared to the previous release.

Not bad, still I'm not entirely sure the new guns warrant an
additional purchase.

A Weapons pack maybe packaged with the Legends version would have been better.

But then what about people who didn't buy Ironhide last time round? Or people new to the franchise? Then releasing a weapons pack is just going to drive up the second-hand price for the original releases of Ironhide.

Going to disagree. I think that a new head and mistransformed legs give him that look. Why would Ironhide be essentially the same but not SS? He's the same mold, just updated.

Edit: OK-I am big enough to admit that this may be a rework. I had to open them side-by-side to really tell. Don't tell my wife I'm admitting that I may be wrong. She'l love that.

Because Starscream's a more important character than Ironhide, and the original SS toy was far more flawed than the original Ironhide.

I thought it was a massive retool at first. Changed 'hands', changed fins, changed nose, even the mech-alive feature I could imagine being retro-engineered in place.

But the lack of visible arms in jet mode is what cinched it for me.

It's a shame that his jet mode looks so much better while his robot mode actually looks worse (though the hands are an improvement).

Yeah, unfortunately he still looks like crap. One can only hope for a great leader version this time around.

Well, I had the first toy in Offroad redeco for about half an hour and one of the feet weren't automorphing correctly and the waist wouldn't snap together without falling apart so I took it back. I've been wanting one though and this looks like they've sorted out the fiddly issues. Now just to get that colour and deco change in the movie and this is all mine. I do believe the cannons can now be stored in the back as well as where they used to be stored on the arms under the vehicle because look, they can still attach to his arms in robot mode.
