After I did the opening ceremonies for the ride, Steven Spielberg walked up to me and chatted and said 'You know we've got you set to do the fourth one and probably the fifth one on the heels of that," said on how he was approached about the new sequels. "So, I guess in December we are on our way to making 4 and 5.

No really surprising. They're not going to stop making movies until they stop making money. It's the disease of Hollywood. They run things until they crash and burn.
It's a little worrisome, actually. But at least Transformers has a long enough history that it will, hopefully, survive when the movies inevitably fail.

I guess that's that for the "all-new cast." As for more sequels, I hope they do keep making them until nobody wants them anymore. Good or bad, I'd rather have them than not.

Good for the franchise, and for my wallet since I will not be getting most of the associated figures.

You know, in the first movie, Glenn's character was there when Blackout attacked the base. Later, it was told that there were "no survivors." So how is it that he survived to be in the following movies and is now going to be in 4 & 5?
Sure, I've considered that he escaped like those few soldiers being pursued by Scorponok. But considering Blackout was sure to send Scorponok to destroy the video camera evidence and any of the other witnesses, I'm quite certain that Blackout himself would've killed all the soldiers there on the base. Especially after this particular soldier axed the power line to the computer from which Blackout was uploading that US military data. That should've pissed Blackout off big time, leaving him with the only choice but to decimate the area.

so first bay is confirmed then optimus is confirmed and now this guy, the whole "new cast" thing isnt looking good. The movie isnt even im production yet and the lies are already starting. And lets not forget what was already mentioned, hes playing a different character now so how are they going to explain that twin brothers? Come on Spielberg take the reigns on this bitch and give us something good, if you can even do that anymore that is.

At this point, whatever Bay or the producers say, I'll believe it only when I see it on screen.
As for Spielberg, I'm not sure I want him anywhere near the TF director's seat. It was his idea to limit the budget for a movie whose main appeal is CGI robots. He also insisted on centering the plot on Sam and his antics, probably so that the story downplayed the TF as much as possible to save on CGI cost.
To be honest, it's still early days for TF4. I'll save my judgement for the final product, but I just hope they don't end up bringing Shia back. Not that he was a bad actor or anything, but I'm tired of the same comedy routine. I'd like to see a more badass protagonist from now. Hell, just make Lennox and/or Epps the hero this time.

I guess it would be a little odd if there were no ties to the previous films.

So he will be in it but a different character.
I don't think that's really believable (giant alien robots is btw).
It's like The Human Torch and Captain America... only not so high profile.
Anyway, a fifth movie?
Doesn't matter, I'll end up seeing it 3 times in cinemas and buy the whole on-screen
toyline anyway

This is not looking good for the whole "totally different from the first three" bit. I'd really like to see Bay gone and Speilberg to stay but to stay truer to the source material. And I swear, if any bot gets named something Stupid Like "Dino"...and is not "DINO"bots, am gonna throw something heavy.....

While he was one of the first actors to report his involvement with Transformers 4, it now appears Glen Morshower will not be appearing in the upcoming film. Word reaches us from The Transformers Live Action Move Blog that Morshower was on hand at Texas Frightmare Weekend earlier this month and stated a scheduling conflict would prevent him from appearing in Transformers 4.
Morshower has appeared in the Transformers live action movie franchise twice as two different characters. He appeared in the first Transformers film as Colonel Sharp and as General Morshower in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
