Identity of ROTF Audi R8 Revealed...

Besides Armada, was there any other TF fiction that used the name "Sideways?"

The name was used in RID for a yellow Autobot Bike, but other then that, It's been used as essentially the same character in Armada and Cybertron. I guess between him and the Fallen, all signs point to Unicron. Oh well. I was hoping the movie-verse would avoid Unicron, but I'm not going to pass judgement until we see how he'll be executed.

Besides, maybe it's just a name. After all, nothing about the name Sideways itself says Unicron.

Maybe it still is Barricade, but he decided to change his name too? Who knows! Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Barricade or not, he still looks heavily influenced by 'Cade's design. Kinda like the whole Rampage/Bonecrusher thing.

Thanks for the heads-up. Anyway, it seems like Audi, unlike some other car companies (*cough*Ford*cough), they have no qualms about having one of their cars seen as a bad guy...

Now, if only Volkswagen can get over their WWII problems...

If you look closely on the video game trailer, you can see Sideways is a playable character. I really don't think they would have a mysterious herald of Unicron as a playable character. Then again, I could be wrong.

You have nailed the operative word that has screwed up everyones conceptions of this new movie...rumor! That and it's demented third cousins, conjecture and misconception, have engaged in a drunken 3-way with miscommunication being the by-product.

Sideways is just another name, the Fallen is just another name, and the Movie-verse is it's own unique creature. Those who see it as more than that and read more into it are the ones responsible for screwing it up for everyone else.

As for the Audi...I think it is way cool that the Decepticons are adding more cars to their ranks. It shows a greater degree of sophistication and strategic thinking than just employing sheer brute force. Sadly, that glimmer of genius is overshadowed, horrifically, by the use of Devastator, but having 2 vehicles able to blend (provided Barricade is still functional) is better than nothing.

maybe Unicron will reformat Barricade into Sideways... nah, Unicron would never do something like that. it's not his style (I seriously doubt that's what's gonna happen in case the sarcasm wasn't strong enough)

The rumors are specifically why I try to avoid the Movie Forum. We really arn't going to know what will happen untill we actually see footage like we did the other week with the trailer, or get some bios for the characters. Everything else is just "he tell me" and "my friend said".

I've approached the second movie just like I did the first, I'm not believing anything until we get actual facts. Far as I'm concerned the name Sideways was only picked because it sounds cool. And untill we gen more information, or see the back of his card my opinion isn't changing.

And Megatron_Wolf, don't worry about Barricade. We saw pictures of several of the Saleens on a flatbed being transported when filming began. They wouldn't be moving those cars unless they needed them for the film, So I'm sure he will be in it somewhere. (Unless they were part of that Drunken 3-way T-Macksimus was talking about )
