is that mold of jazz a decent mold? I like the way it looks but I was turned off by the hollow areas. is that a problem really? Is he pretty sturdy?

He is decent, but not great. His greatest problems are mainly aesthetic, such as the wide hollow chest and narrow waist.

The concept is hilarious, but the execution of the Optimus is a textbook example of why action figures can't have too many cloth accessories once they're below a certain height: between the hair and scarf, you can barely tell what he's even supposed to be.

He's also a klepto. You can see he stole Jazz's gun, and Primus only knows where he's stashed Laserbeak and Ratbat.
Although I guess technically Laserbeak and Ratbat might belong to him anyways. But the point is, they're not in the pictures either.
I do hope it doesn't wind up being terribly annoying to take off the wigs and cloth stuff in order to transform these guys. Or at the very least that the stuff isn't glued on or whatever, because that'd probably make it impossible to transform these things.
I do wonder why they went with FoC Jazz for this set instead of RtS Jazz. After all, RtS Jazz has a sound system.

If I had to take a cynical guess, I'd say it's because we had a few hundred FOC Primes and Jazzs left over.

The plastic colors on Prime are slightly dirrerent, and Jazz seems to barely share any plastic colors at all with the previous use of the mold, so that doesn't actually work. They'd have had to make these new regardless of the mold they chose.
I'm gonna put on my tinfoil hat and say that between this and Generations Nightbeat, I'm starting to suspect something happened to the RtS Jazz mold and it's unusable now.

Soundwave is going for a little less than three dollars. Jazz is going for a little more than a buck. The highest I've seen Optimus Prime go for is just a little over ten whopping dollars. If those prices are premium, I'm one of the richest little buggers in North Carolina!
