In-Package pics of Platinum Conehead Seekers Squadron with Thurst, Dirge and Ramjet

Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Daniel Oon, we now have pictures of the upcoming Transformers Platinum Edition "Seeker Squadron" 3-Pack of the Conehead Seekers with Thurst, Dirge and Ramjet. Daniel found the set at an Isetan store in Singapore which was priced at $109.90 SGD (approximately $78.89 USD). The appeal of this set, beside the amazing artwork that graces the front of the packaging, is that this is the first reissue of Thrust and Ramjet since the Collector's Edition packaged versions which were sold at Jaf-Con 10 in July 2001. Dirge was last reissued as part of Hasbro's Commemorative Series 11 years ago back in 2004. This news was sent to us via the Seibertron.com Facebook page.

Have you found this set at a local store near you? If so, please report your sightings in our sightings forum or in our official sightings section.

Aww shucks, was hoping for tampos. Not a big deal, would happily pay around $80 for this set to upgrade my vintage Ramjet and Thrust.

Interesting that the short missiles are included for Thrust and not the safety standard ones included with the Commemorative Series seekers - wouldn't expect this one at US retail if that holds up :-?

It's odd that they aren't packaged in the same order that they are depicted on the front and back of the box.

Damn! You're right... wonder what this will mean for us Canadians and Americans :-?

I would like to point out the phenominal price tag on this set, especially with all the talk regarding the Insecticons and YOTG Laser Prime. The only Conehead reissued was Dirge through TRU's Commemorative series. Outside of that, the trio was sold through E-Hobby back in the day which commands some pretty big bucks on ebay. With this set, and the original Encore seeker trio, fans can have an entire G1 set of seekers on the cheap. It's so awesome, I'm marking the occasion with the invention of a new word: CRAZ-MAZ-TASTIC.

Want.

And that's a good price. I was afraid they were going to be monstrously expensive.

Now, where is Trypticon? :-s

I wouldn't draw too heavy a conclusion on the US retail price based on what this thing is going for in SIngapore... there's still a really good (and by which I mean horrific) chance this will appear for $120 or higher, based on the shelf-warming Insecticons.

For that price I'll be all over them. They don't look like the best G1 toys out there by a longshot, but they're definitely interesting. Retooling a Diaclone toy 3 times for a mold already released 3 times. Not sure that's ever happened since (yes, yes, the classics seekers ;) maybe even a few movie toys have similar claims). I think they're interesting history anyway, predecessors to how often molds are reused today.

Keep in mind that this is the Singapore price. I would expect the price to be more expensive here in the US.

I would have been interested in these years ago before I knew CHUG was going to get so big and do every character. I ended up buying a combination of vintage and e-hobby to complete my vintage seeker collection. Unless they decide to do a set of rainmakers in this mold, Im done with vintage bricks.

Works for me! More for those of us who appreciate these awesome vintage and legacy Transformers toys. :D

Indeed! Even if I had the older reissues (which I don't), I'd still pursue these Platinum Editions. I'm a sucker for packaging, and these toys are packaged be-au-tifully.

I do have a feeling that Thrusts missiles wont be firing. odds are they will remove the springs for safety sake

Nice to see G1 reissues again. I was lucky enough to pick up the ehobby reissues of Thrust and Ramjet back in '06.

Yes and in addition to your statement neither are the names in the right order as the characters. So I suspect they switched Thrust and Ramjet accidently... :-?
