Fellow Seibertronians, following on from our first news story of this rather bizarre repaint of the MP-10 mold as Shattered Glass Optimus Prime, we can now report that through The Chosen Prime that Masterpiece Shattered Glass Optimus Prime is not only happening, but is already set to drop in December. Coming in at $179.99 US with a release date of December 2016, he's just around the corner, so do you intend to pre-order this fascinating re-use of the mold, or if you are just tired of all MP-10 repaints? If people want him, great! I don't however. I have focussed on G1. That why I ain't getting the Beast Masterpieces, and why I've decided to trim the MP collection down a little.

They're both mp-10 - just not necessarily in name. They both use the mp-10 mold and are colored nearly identically to represent the same character >:oP

Why would we be comparing a Hasbro release of the mold to a Takara one?

Because it does make a difference to some Masterpiece collectors. First of all the colors are noticeably different on the two and unless they changed something the smokestacks are shorter on the Hasbro version. Some people (myself included) want to keep Masterpiece collections consistent in both manufacturer and packaging style. I only have a few Masterpiece figures but I plan on getting more and they'll all be Takara. I prefer the look of the Takara boxes and want it to be the same throughout my entire collection.

Shattered glass prime is a vastly different character from g1 prime - that's like saying g1 prime and g1 megs have the same character - they don't, not even remotely >:oP

This. I got the Hasbro Prime because his colours were closer to what I wanted and his eyes aren't dead.

Because I said it was cheaper than buying an MP-10 not the Hasbro Masterpiece optimus and both you and hellscream attempted to prove me wrong by saying they're the same thing.
