McDonald's Happy Meal Transformers Prime and My Little Pony Promotion Starts Friday

This Friday will launch the McDondald's dual Happy Meal promotion, featuring Transformers Prime and My Little Pony. Images from MiraiBaby's Twitter feed indicate the first 2 figures for the Transformers Prime line up will be Optimus Prime and Megatron! No surprise there. Also revealed are the first 2 offerings for the My Little Pony toys which are Pinky Pie and Rarity. But, as previously reported Optimus, Megatron, BumbleBee, Bulkhead, Starscream, Ratchet, Knock-Out and Breakdown will be included during the promotion. Additional information has surfaced thanks to TFW2005.com member Bumblebee3. Megatron, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead will include a spring loaded launcher and missile. Optimus and Megatron will have lights, Optimus with red and Megatron with green. Starscream, Breakdown, Ratchet and Knockout will have flip out weapons. I just recently commented to a friend of mine about how cool it was that McDonalds would be doing the transformers toys since they do transforming ones. Now that I see them, it makes me sad since they dont transform.

This is why I love Seibertron's news: I was thinking about this literally half an hour ago, wondering when these would hit. Way to read my mind, news crew! (Feel free to ignore the other craziness in there.)

I love these little toys, even if they don't TF. I'm going to be in to McD's for a good chunk of change this time around, I'll have to get 3 sets of TFs (me, and both kids) and a set of MLPFIM for the girl.

Been out since Monday out my way. My son got Prime and Megatron. Kinda lame, seeing as they don't transform. Don't know why they stopped having Happy Meal toys transform.

See, if they were really smart, they could have somehow introduced the Botshots (more obscure characters) into the happymeal toys, effectively snagging some long-term buyers who will want more after the line stops at McDs.

I work at a McDonalds, and we got our toys yesterday. We're starting with Starscream and Bumblebee...at least those are the ones I saw in the toy shelf.

Very true. The BW through BM promos at McDonald's had some great toys. Even the Armada promo was ok. The Cybertron promo at BK was a bit lack luster, but they still transformed. With these, they coulda even done a flip top robot mode kinda thing. That coulda been cool. Eh, what can you do?

There are actually a couple of these that I wouldn't mind getting just for sh** & giggles but my kids are too old for happy meals (would take 3 meals each to fill them up now and that's freaking expensive) and I don't eat fast food anymore so I don't go to burger joints if I have any choice in the matter. I'll give it 6 months and then hit the discount store. I'll find them bagged up with old hot-wheels and get them for cheaper than a Happy Meal costs.
